If we didn't know better, we could be mistaken for thinking that Hilary Mines has put some pensioners to work while she sat back on her crutches. But we know that Hil's parents have been lifelong hikers and, while they've been happy to go at Hil's current snail's pace, they want to keep their own trundl stats up too. Such brilliant examples to all of us. As Hil says, use it or lose it. Walking is a deceptively powerful form of exercise that does great things for our bodies and minds, inside and out, with minimal chance of injury. So, whether you're already fit or not, do think about how you can incorporate more walking and less driving into your life. Who knows, it may mean that you become fit and feisty into your 80s too 💚 #walking #charitywalk #healthyageing #trundl

Changing the way people and businesses are motivated to be active outdoors and save CO2 through the trundl charity app
About us
Joining trundl for business or individual membership is like having instant access to a charity walk, without having to raise the funds yourself. And through the CO2 Saver feature that accumulates carbon savings when members walk rather than drive, you will help plant orchards in UK schools with The Tree Council too. Come rain or shine, every trundl is much more than just a walk. Because you’re not just doing yourself good, you’re also helping UK environment and human mobility related charities. It's a walk. But it's better.

Today marks the 75th year since the National Parks Act was passed to establish National Parks, making it easy and free for anyone to access nature. It's hard to imagine what things would be like if this hadn't happened. Because not only did the Act open the countryside up to ordinary people, it also ensured the safeguarding of our most beautiful landscapes for future generations to enjoy. As a post from National Parks Partnerships today shared: 'Created a year after the founding of the NHS, National Parks were intended to be our ‘natural health service’. With over 90 million people visiting the 15 National Parks a year, this 'natural health service' now covers around 10% of Britain’s land, encompassing an incredible range of environments, landscapes and natural heritage. But managing peoples' safety and experience, while also maintaining the Parks and investing in vital regeneration projects, does not come cheap. If you watched last night's Countryfile on the BBC, you will have heard of the funding challenges the National Parks face: "The funding picture for us right now is bleak, but there is so much hope and so many opportunities where we can deliver solutions to these challenges" While trundl is currently only a relatively small donator, we're immensely proud that the National Parks Partnerships team quickly understood our shared values and vision for getting more people out and active in nature. They became one of our first charity partners and have been incredible supporters and advisors across the 3+ years that we have trundled for them. We'll be trundling again for the National Parks UK over the holidays as part of our biggest 'All Go' fundraiser for all of our charity partners. This is generously sponsored by Sykes Holiday Cottages, who have supported many of our trundls for UK National Parks too. Do join in if you can and turn your everyday walks into donations for this brilliant and important cause 💚 #trundl #charitywalk #esg #purposedrivenbusiness

Here's our Hil, Hilary Mines, chatting about the shocking statistics that Trussell published recently. Every penny counts for foodbanks at the moment. So, with that in mind, we are doing a short 10-day trundl dash for Trussell until midnight on the 19th December. trundl members can get a brain break from their desks or daily lives by taking stroll or walking the dog, repurposing any walk into a donation by pressing GO on the trundl app. With membership costing less than £1 a week, we regularly raise between £700 - £1000 every month as a community, without anyone having to fundraise themselves. Do join in if you also fancy turning your steps into good deeds ❤️ #esg #csr #walkingforhealth

This is certainly a hip-hip-hooray moment as Hilary Mines achieves her goal of making it to the post box. Anyone who saw the video last week will know that it was about 900m away from her circuit, but by being at the top of a slight slope, had been too challenging for her new hip. But being Hil and determined, she made it this week and was thrilled to achieve a simple task like posting cards and letter on her own. Even more delighting is the encouragement from complete strangers who've been observing her daily walks on crutches. And as these short journeys have of course been trundls, Hil still feels that they're meaningful in other ways by adding pennies and - now - kilometres to the trundl donation and distance targets for Trussell. Brava Hil and keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep trundling #rehab #arthritis #charitywalk #foodbanks

Oof. That was a wet, windy, icy, foggy - tick as appropriate - Dogs for Autism UK trundl 🌬️⛈️🌫️❄️ Well done everyone who braved the elements and still helped us get to 5,098 kms which was 85% of the target. This created a donation of £255, which could cover the purchase of at least 6 training jackets for growing puppies for Dogs for Autism UK Thank you and keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep trundling #ESG #wellbeingwalks #CSR #trundl #community #dogwalking #autism

Yes, we do stoop to emotional blackmail when we're nearly at the end of a trundl and need a last push to reach the target. Thanks to the weekend's poor weather - to put it mildly - we have some ground to make up for the Dogs for Autism UK trundl So, if you're a trundlr, or if you fancy joining in and being ready to help the Trussell trundl that starts tomorrow, do take time for a walking break today. If you've been cooped up in the last few days, your body and mind will thank you for it too. Christmas shopping, walk in the park, hike with the dog, wander to the post box, a lunchtime amble; we'll take them all thank you 🦔 🎄 💚 #walkforcharity #autism #healthandwellbeing

In case anyone is missing trundl founder Hilary Mines's cheerful presence, we're sharing today's update on her rehab progress since the hip-op. With short daily trundls that are still in the 100's of metres in length each time, since November 22nd Hil has recorded 6.36kms through the trundl app, creating a 32p donation for Dogs for Autism UK. While this may sound insignificant, it's hugely motivating for Hil knowing that even her short walks on crutches are adding to our total target. Keep going Hil, you'll be at the post box in no time 🦔 #rehab #arthritis #charitywalk #trundl #motivation

On techtimeout day, feel inspired to get moving outside and enjoy the view. A 20 minute walking break at lunchtime will boost your metabolism, improve your mood and get the creative cogs whirring. And if you trundl at the same time, you'll have the extra boost of knowing you're doing good for UK causes like Dogs for Autism UK too. Enjoy the break, however you choose to take it 🦔 #techtimeout #walking #walkforcharity #trundl

We're taking part in techtimeout tomorrow, are you? It might sound a bit rich for a tech company to be talking about a break from tech, but the Techtimeout movement isn't about dropping tech completely. It's more about helping people to have a healthier relationship with it. As trundl isn't a turn-by-turn app, or one that ties you into streaks or leaderboards, it can sit in a pocket for the duration of a walk, while you enjoy the view and some clear headspace for creative thinking. And at the end of it there's always a thank you to boost your mood in return for helping great causes. Just 20 minutes a day of walking outdoors is fantastic for your mental wellbeing and physical health. If you start a practice now and get into the swing of it, think how easy it will be to keep it going in the New Year as days get longer.... Happy trundling 🦔 #techtimeout #charitywalk #trundl

Great to see that Hilary Mines' humour has survived the hip op - not to be confused with hip-hop at this stage. Thanks for all the support, it means a lot to everyone at trundl 💚 🦔 #trundl #arthritis #hipreplacement

Actually, that's not true!! I am, VERY VERY pleased. I got sent this card from Kathy Henshaw and love it so thought we'd start the week with a smile. Just a quick one to say ❤ thank you to everyone of you who sent me lovely messages of support for my new shiny hip op. It was two weeks ago today! Where does it go? Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust and Tim Board and all of his hip team were fab. I knew I was in good hands. Thank you. I am still only able to sit for short periods so apologise if I am slow to return messages and thanks to Lucinda Wright who kept her beady eye on my LinkedIn messages. And of course, I have been trundling. Up to about 400m now a couple of times a day. We're raising money for Dogs for Autism UK at the moment and even in rehab I'm helping donate a couple of pennies every time I go out of the front door. 🚶🏽♀️🚶🏿♀️🏃🏼♂️🐶 Have a lovely week everyone. Don't forget the brain breaks and fresh air 💚 Hil
