We're taking part in techtimeout tomorrow, are you? It might sound a bit rich for a tech company to be talking about a break from tech, but the Techtimeout movement isn't about dropping tech completely. It's more about helping people to have a healthier relationship with it. As trundl isn't a turn-by-turn app, or one that ties you into streaks or leaderboards, it can sit in a pocket for the duration of a walk, while you enjoy the view and some clear headspace for creative thinking. And at the end of it there's always a thank you to boost your mood in return for helping great causes. Just 20 minutes a day of walking outdoors is fantastic for your mental wellbeing and physical health. If you start a practice now and get into the swing of it, think how easy it will be to keep it going in the New Year as days get longer.... Happy trundling 🦔 #techtimeout #charitywalk #trundl

Tech guys, STOP hiding behind your screens. 👀👨🏼💻 Seriously, it’s killing your health.. Not only is sitting the new smoking, but when you neglect your relationships, you become isolated, and your mental health tanks. Here’s 3 Ideas to get you feeling more connected. 1️⃣ Walk and Talks: Schedule time to go on walks with your friends and family—in person is best, but you could also give them a call and go for a walk yourself. I personally love this one because you kill two birds with one stone: socialization AND exercise. 2️⃣ Work at a Coffee Shop: Just being around other people can help you feel less isolated, even if you’re not engaging with them. Take your laptop, grab a cup of coffee, sit in the corner facing out towards everyone so you can see them in your peripherals, and get to work. 3️⃣ Join Community Groups: Whether it’s a local tech meetup, pickleball, or a hobby-based club, get out there and connect with like-minded folks. You never know who you might click with. You have to treat social time like eating food… a non-negotiable need you've GOT to meet to stay healthy, or in this case—mentally SANE. Socializing is a muscle, and if you don't use it, you lose it. So get out there every now and then and tell me your life doesn't improve! What strategies have you found helpful in combating isolation? Let me know what I missed in the comments below! 👇✨ _________________________________________________ And if you’re looking for a community of like-minded guys, join us at our next Men’s Circle call. It’s free and a great first step in flexing those social muscles. Introducing Togething: the action-oriented social network! As we become increasingly aware that current social media platforms don't play much of a positive role in our lives, the need for a better alternative becomes more apparent. In today's world, with so much mobility and relocation, staying physically close to those we care about isn't always possible. Online connections are a necessity; however, we can't let online platforms exploit us at the cost of our mental health and valuable attention. This highlights the urgency for a new communication platform that keeps us connected without distracting us from what truly matters in our lives, and ideally making us even more productive and focused. As ambitious as it sounds, it is possible, and that's what Togething is all about. On this platform, you can clarify your goals and share your progress with your network. You can do this in groups, assign an accountability partner, and utilize many other features to motivate you along the path of improving your life. The project took more than 3.5 years to reach the production stage, and now the app is available for the public to use and test. You can find the download link here: www.togething.com #socialmedia #productivity #motivation #connection #lifestyle #app #newapp #togething #goalsetting #innovation #mentalHealth #socialImpact

"Hey! We're building an exciting tech tool we hope will make your world-changing work as a therapist easier and more enjoyable. We'd love to pick your brain about it- do you have any time this week?" Therapists, does this message look familiar? It's okay if you don't want to give free labor to someone who wants to turn it into cash. Not sure how to respond? Need a copywriter? Here's a good template response: "Hi! That's exciting, congratulations! I offer free consultations for non profits! If you're a for profit model, I charge $xxx per hour. I've been working in mental health for x years and with the _____ population for x years, so I'd love to share my insights with you. I'm also open to longer term consultation partnerships, if you'd like to chat about that. Send me a scheduling link and let's get something on the calendar - and if you wanted to send me questions in advance so I can prep, my email is xxxx@xxxx.com. Looking forward to it!" ❓ How much should I charge? Take your cash pay rates and double them- one hour for prep work, one hour for the call. (It's okay if you don't need a full hour for prep work, though! You should still charge more than you charge your clients - this work is different.) ❓ What if they say no? Try this: "I understand - budgets can be tight when you're trying to get off the ground. However, you should know that you're not going to get very far if you build on a foundation of not valuing therapists! You could consider offering a free subscription to your product for a few years, or seeing if you have any therapists in your personal network willing to chat over a meal on you. Good luck!" #mentalhealth #therapists #startups

🌱 Time, headspace, energy and money - the 4 resources available to all of us. Whilst sometimes these resources can feel abundant at other times, one or more can feel a little (or a lot!) stretched. Unless we take time to check in though it can be hard to notice if a particular resource is running low & before you know it, you've reached a crisis point - you're overwhelmed, burnt out or so run down you're bouncing from one illness to the next, catching every bug that’s doing the rounds.🤒 💡If instead we take time to step back & notice when our resources are running low, we can then take proactive steps to replenish them. ⏰Tomorrow in the free #NookCommunity I'll be sharing a resource which you can use to walk through this process as often as you need. 📩 Head to the link in my bio or the comments below to join our free (& fabulous!) community & I look forward to seeing you in there💞 #wellbeingfirst #wellbeingmatters #weekendvibes #mentalhealthmatters #parentsupport #parentcoach

I confess, I’ve wasted my time. This Leap-year what will you do with your extra day? When I was at LinkedIn we were given 1 day per month as an In-day. We were told to block it from meetings and regularly scheduled work. To take the day to give back to ourselves, our community, or the world. We could use it to volunteer. We could work on a lower-priority passion project for work. We could take a class and learn a new skill. We could recharge our mental health. Sometimes collaborating with friends like Mindy S. we could launch a whole new program. I'd make a memory volunteering in my daughter's class that will last for years, and pick up an idea for customer education along the way. I'd always return invigorated and grateful. I love the concept of a day to take a step away from the daily routine so you can return with a fresh perspective. But as a leader at several companies since, I didn’t implement it. Had a team member asked for time like this I would have said yes. But I didn’t think to suggest it. As a founder, there is no one telling me how to spend my time. Yet I haven’t ever taken an ‘In-day’ Now I’m wondering why not? Every 4 years we get an extra day. Why not take this as a sign for you to set aside one day to invest in yourself, your community or the world? What will you do with your extra day? #leapyear2024 #mentalhealthmatters #startuplife
