Discussing oral health with the youngest members in their community Over the past month, Leah Hobbs, Bupa Dental Care Australia with Lily Hanna and Grace Calmerin, from Clearly Dental Roseville, have developed an oral health community initiative to connect their practice with their local childcare centres. Lily and Grace recently visited KU The Chase Preschool and discussed healthy teeth and gums with 30 very well-behaved kindergarten children! It’s been incredibly rewarding to see their hard work come to life, and plans are now underway to expand this initiative to more Bupa Dental practices in the near future!

The success of our Graduate Program is thanks to strong mentorship from dentists in our network. As we get ready to welcome a new cohort of Graduates in 2025, we reflected on the importance of mentorship with Bite Magazine. "A key part of this development is from our experienced dentists who are eager to educate, support and share skills based on a graduate’s individual needs and interests,” our Director Guneet Sawhney told Bite Magazine. Dr John Schaefer at Barossa Dental, part of Bupa's network, agrees and says mentorship is part of their culture. "I'm officially the mentor [for the graduate] but all our senior dentists also play a role in supporting the new dentists," Dr Schaefer says. "If there’s a patient or a case that can get a little tricky, the new dentist always knows they have someone to go to who will assist and direct them in the best way to handle the situation." Congratulations on a great year to all our 2024 Graduates and their mentors. We're looking forward to kickstarting the career of many more dentists in 2025!

We're creating more professional development & networking opportunities for our Oral Health Therapists and Hygienists. We recently teamed up with Invisalign Australia to design a full day, in-person free CPD course for our OHTs and Hygienists. Feedback was brilliant and will used as build our 2025 education calendar!
On Friday, I had the opportunity to join the first-ever OHT and DT course collaboration with Bupa and Invisalign. It was an incredible experience to learn more about the latest in orthodontic care and see how we can bring Invisalign into our practice. Plus, it was great to connect with other people in the field and swap tips. I’m excited to take what I learned and see the difference it can make for our patients!
