We're introducing a new AI-driven Tissue Analytics solution which will revolutionise wound care management for Amplar Health patients. Over the past year, Amplar Home Health facilitated more than 97,000 visits for wound care, many patients with chronic or complex wounds requiring multidisciplinary approaches. Approximately 450,000 Australians currently live with a chronic wound, so there's a pressing need for effective wound care in our country. More: https://lnkd.in/gJt2x_-C #MakingHealthPersonal

  • We have been growing our No Gap network over the past five years to make healthcare more accessible and affordable, and recently doubled the number of hospitals we offer No Gap endoscopies in Melbourne.    Customers will not be any charged out-of-pocket fees for endoscopies when they see participating specialists at Direct Endoscopy hospitals in Hampton, Frankston, Narre Warren, Rosebud and Bayswater. Endoscopy procedures such as gastroscopies and colonoscopies can identify and diagnose a number of conditions including gastrointestinal diseases (coeliac, GERD, Crohn’s) and a number of cancers, including bowel cancer. This will allow our customers living in Melbourne to have important health screenings without incurring any out-of-pocket costs when they see a participating specialist.   Medibank Chief Customer Officer Milosh Milisavljevic said this new partnership is part of Medibank’s commitment to make health care more accessible and affordable.   “We have been growing our No Gap network over the past five years to ensure our customers can access affordable healthcare,” said Mr Milisavljevic.   “Cost of living is a real issue for many Australians, and we see reports that people are skipping medical appointments as a result, which can lead to serious health issues if problems are not detected and addressed.   “This will allow our customers living in Melbourne to have important health screenings without incurring any out-of-pocket costs when they see a participating specialist.”   Read the Newsroom article here: https://lnkd.in/gdDdMWpz

  • In a win for the mental health of young people, the government has passed legislation to raise the age young people can join social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat. Congrats to the 36 Months team for their advocacy on this - we're with you all the way!

  • We're proud to be the official health partner of 36 Months, and we support their push to help protect the mental health of young people by delaying the legal age teenagers can sign up for social media. We're pleased to see the government has announced they are introducing legislation that will support this initiative -- an important next step in helping young people's wellbeing.

  • As we near the end of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’d like to share Medibank’s Geo Project Manager Simon Hogan story about the lessons he learnt upon becoming a father (now of two) and his dedication to empowering other dads to reach out, build connections and have open conversations about all things fatherhood – the celebrations, the challenges and everything in between. Bricks and mortar hospitals will always play an important role in the health system, but expensive acute hospitals should not be the only option. We know many patients want to be treated in the comfort of their own home and it frees up precious beds for those that really need it. Today we released the results of a Medibank commissioned KPMG report. In 2030, 350,000 patients could be treated in the home instead of a hospital, substituting up to 1.2 million bed days and saving up to $1 billion. The report looked closely at SA Health’s My Home Hospital service and the work @chrispicton and his team are delivering to the community, a prime example of emerging models being embraced to support the economic and patient needs of the health system.  https://lnkd.in/gK6BSwUn MedibankCalvary Amplar Health Joint Venture Sarah McRae Amplar Health Chris Picton
