Dumbest strategic decision we took at StackIt! 🤦 We are airing our dirty laundry! 👇 We all know focus is key... don't we? Despite all this knowledge, we made a blunder. Last year, in a burst of misguided enthusiasm, Abhinav, Manan, and I decided to divide and conquer by pursuing three different GTM tracks simultaneously. The initial rush soon gave way to a sobering reality. 2 weeks passed with relentless effort but no tangible progress. We were executing but there was no success. We again huddled up, we again refined our approach, changed some things here and there, and then again did a bunch of activities. Again, nothing moved. It took a painful period of reflection, frustration, and intense debate, to confront the truth we had been avoiding: our focus was scattered. In our ambition to cover more ground, we had lost sight of the essential principle that underpins success - focus. We regrouped, we started focusing on just one track - RevOps. The shift was dramatic. Things started moving again. We started seeing momentum - cold emails got response, cold messages on Linkedin got replies, community interactions yielded results, new users started trickling in, and they started complaining. Things moved. Momentum was unlocked. Focus leads to clarity, clarity leads to momentum.

The best founders bench press 500 pounds. Just ask Ronnie Coleman. Our favorite startup wisdom guru. His quote was shared daily at Rigor (acquired by Splunk) "Everybody wanna be a bodybuilder. But ain't nobody want to lift that heavy ass weight." Everybody wants to have a great business. But not many people want to do what it takes: *Grind in the trenches for 10 years.  *Give up a 6 (or 7) figure income.  *Cold call daily for years.  *Feel overwhelmed. *Fire a friend. *Do things you're not good at.  *Go full speed with no guarantees of success. Yet the best founders do those things every day. For years and years. When no one else is willing to do the hard, messy, daily work... FeedHive has a feature that I used in my UI/UX tip. I like the solution: when you need to post something, it might not matter than much if it'll be published at 18:24 or 19:20. So Simon Høiberg made four quick actions, when I want to "just post it in the evening at a random time". Nice usage of quick actions, in my opinion.

My company's landing page received over 600 signups in 15 hours, and I don't want them. I think this is a testament that the product I'm building fits a very strong need. How did I get them? First, I didn't even create a marketing campaign. 1) A post on YC's Hacker News asked "does X exist?". My company happens to provide a better solution, and yes, it leverages AI. My mentor actually sent me the link. I commented enthusiastically to the post. One of the comments said something along the lines of "this really really really needs to happen". 2) My product's customers are for software engineers. I moved to San Francisco, since it has the highest density of engineers than any city. I attended lots of events as a way to sync with the community, and I shared my company page when anyone asked for it. I actually didn't sell it. These are so far the only ways I've shared my company. Is this luck? Did this spread through word of mouth or online sharing? Have I found a product that has reached product market fit before launch? Stay tuned! Even I'm surprised! Many of us have been conditioned by our parents and family to "stop bragging". We feel that whatever we've achieved is really not that much. That we could have done so much more. So much better.
