Enabling the next generation of transformative genetic medicines
About us
Aera was founded with a vision to unlock the potential of genetic medicines across a broad range of modalities and therapeutic areas. Our protein nanoparticle (PNP) delivery platform leverages the discovery of endogenous, human proteins that can self-assemble to form capsid-like structures and that can package and transfer nucleic acid cargo. This platform has the potential to address many of the limitations of today’s delivery technologies and to enable various genetic medicine modalities.

Last week, Team Aera dedicated an afternoon to strengthening our team and giving back to the community. We kicked off with a collaborative workshop focused on bringing our best ideas to the table, followed by packing over 165 backpacks filled with essential school supplies for local youth experiencing homelessness. It was great way to reinforce our commitment to a culture of continuous learning and positive impact. A big thank you to Eileen Habelow, Ph.D. from Leadership-Link, Blake Nviri from Life Science Cares Boston, and Michael Lombo from School on Wheels of Massachusetts for making this day so memorable. Here’s to creating brighter futures, one backpack at a time!

Aera not only attended Benchtalk 2024, held October 1st & 2nd in Boston, but we also received some kudos on how we are integrating @Benchling into our science. Congrats to Samivel Evans for receiving the inaugural Benchling Champion award and thanks to Brad Loncar for a great discussion with Aera's VP, Computation and Lab Technology, Bob Gantzer about how Benchling fits into our research. Check it out on BiotechTV: https://lnkd.in/gS2fykTu

The Aera team took to the water for our 2024 summer outing! We enjoyed a beautiful dinner cruise on the Charles River before heading through the locks at Charlestown and into Boston’s inner harbor to catch the sunset. There was plenty of fun and laughter amongst good company. It was a perfect way to unwind and connect outside of work.
