Aera not only attended Benchtalk 2024, held October 1st & 2nd in Boston, but we also received some kudos on how we are integrating @Benchling into our science. Congrats to Samivel Evans for receiving the inaugural Benchling Champion award and thanks to Brad Loncar for a great discussion with Aera's VP, Computation and Lab Technology, Bob Gantzer about how Benchling fits into our research. how many phaages can fit in 50Litres?
Director of the first UK's Centre for Phage Research and Professor of Microbiology at University of Leicester
When 50 ml of phages is not enough! And you need 50 litres or just 4! So lucky to have Adam Ostrowski visit us from Cellexus to install our very own Centre for Phage Research, system to optimise phage production scale up. Very much looking forward to seeing what we will do with it! Anisha Thanki is getting to grips with it nicely and will drive it's use for our recent BBSRC award 😀!

🤝 The BIRDIE project is a meeting between technical innovation and groundbreaking biological science. We spoke to Niek Welkenhuysen, technical development lead at Fluicell, about the importance of letting the needs of researchers drive technology development. Niek keeps himself busy by always having a new project at hand. If not at work, then by creating new space for animals in his house or by striving towards his next goal as an endurance athlete. 🏃♂️ 🚴♀️ 🏊♂️ Read more about Nieks role in BIRDIE and his approach to technology development. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eznftutF

Xavier NOËL (ULB) and Agnes MOORS (KU Leuven) have joined forces to develop and test an original model of addictive behaviors. This exciting project is supported for the next four years through joint funding from the F.R.S.-FNRS (French-speaking Community) and FWO (Flemish Community). Beyond the theoretical scope of the project, we strongly believe that its clinical applications will be highly significant. Agnes and I are deeply grateful to these esteemed scientific institutions for enabling a collaboration that embodies out-of-the-box thinking and innovation.

Cross the Threshold by Purchasing Your Ticket Now! Time is running out. Does liminality strike you as too academic of a subject? Not to worry. At Semiofest Porto, theory and praxis align in ways that uncover fresh insight and intellectual stimulation. Applied semioticians recognize that clients typically engage us to uncover and interpret codes. Thus, our program will highlight some case studies and challenge attendees beyond by thinking about liminality from multiple perspectives toward application. https://lnkd.in/gGTdKYwa
