CarbonCure Technologies has signed a multiparty agreement with Gulf Cryo and ABDULLAH ABDIN FACTORIES to deliver low-carbon concrete to NEOM. NEOM has made significant commitments to sustainability and so, as the world's largest construction project, needed advanced solutions to significantly reduce the embodied carbon in its concrete. "This agreement results from the enablement of the Ministry of Energy and many project stakeholders. We are very grateful to have Abdin as a local concrete producer partner, enabling lower carbon concrete production with CarbonCure’s technologies at its plant in Ghayal and utilizing Gulf Cryo CO2,” said CarbonCure CEO Robert Niven. #TarongaVenturesPortfolio #CarbonCure #NEOM
CarbonCure is excited to announce a groundbreaking, multi-party agreement at NEOM with our concrete producer partner ABDULLAH ABDIN FACTORIES and CO2 supplier Gulf Cryo, demonstrating the enormous potential to significantly reduce embodied carbon of concrete construction across Saudi Arabia and worldwide. By utilizing Gulf Cryo-captured CO2 and mineralizing it in ready mix concrete with CarbonCure’s technologies, Abdin will produce a high-quality, lower-carbon building material for NEOM’s large scale construction projects. This collaboration, supported by the Saudi Ministry of Energy, is a major step forward in advancing sustainable construction practices in the Middle East and beyond. Learn more via our news release: https://lnkd.in/e-cYikqY Together, we're building a more sustainable future, one truckload at a time! Interested in joining our effort? NEOM has implemented Ampd Energy's advanced battery energy storage system. Ampd Energy (a Taronga Ventures portfolio company) is transforming construction by replacing diesel generators with cleaner, quieter, and more efficient power systems. Their solution aligns seamlessly with NEOM's vision for more sustainable construction and greener energy systems, leading to multiple project opportunities including NEOM Airport. Thank you to Wyatt Roy and Alex McCauley for their leadership and support in driving these initiatives forward. #TarongaVenturesPortfolio #AmpdEnergy #NEOM
🏗️ How do you introduce cutting-edge technologies to the world’s largest construction site at NEOM? 💡Our approach is this: 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗯𝗶𝗴. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹. 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁! We are collaborating with the world’s best funds, startups, entrepreneurs, scientists, and engineers to test and scale pioneering innovations that will shape the future and diversify the economy. 🔍 One key question we asked was this: How do we eliminate emissions, reduce noise, and lower operational costs in challenging construction environments? 🌱 At NEOM’s airport we’ve just unwrapped our first advanced, compact and connected battery storage system (ESS) to replace the dirty, noisy and hazardous diesel generators that power much of the world’s construction. Our search for solutions led us to partners like Taronga Ventures and Ampd Energy, a state-of-the-art energy storage system. Over the next few months, more units will arrive in NEOM, where they’ll be tested across various scenarios. 🙏🏻 A big thank you to our friends and colleagues in ENOWA, NEOM Airport and across NEOM for the partnership to bring this pilot project to life. This is all part of our new initiative to simplify piloting tech and drive impact across NEOM and Saudi Arabia. 🌍 Our mission is to make NEOM a living lab for innovations that allow us to build faster, cheaper, and cleaner. If you’re developing a solution that might be a fit for that mission, we want to hear from you! The first day of our portfolio company delegation to the UAE was outstanding. Our delegates were grateful for the warm welcome of our friends at Abu Dhabi Investment Office and Hub71. Then, we met with Abu Dhabi Investment Office's PPP team to understand the extent of their PPP program, shaping the future of Abu Dhabi across multiple asset types. Their vision in engaging with technology companies early and making solutions accessible to developers is critical to their success. We then visited Abu Dhabi Finance Week to hear from global investment managers on the incredible prospects for the region. Following, we had the privilege of meeting with ALDAR, who has been a foundation investor and partner in the Middle East. Aldar's innovation team has implemented multiple Taronga Ventures technologies, supported those companies' entry into the UAE and taken pilots to scaled implementation. From the discussion, we expect to see multiple new projects in the works. Thank you to Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Hub71 and the UAE Embassy in Australia for playing an active role in supporting the entry and future establishment of these Taronga Ventures portfolio companies in the UAE.

Exciting times ahead as we bring the future of real assets to life at Windsor Place, starting with the deployment of OpenSpace. At Taronga Projects, we believe in leveraging innovative technology to create real assets that are not only efficient but also sustainable. OpenSpace, a 360-degree reality capture and AI-powered analytics solution, is helping to drive this vision at Windsor Place. This technology allows us to capture and visualise job site progress seamlessly, enhancing our ability to manage the construction process effectively. Our Managing Partners Jonathan Hannam and Avi Naidu were able to personally experience the value that OpenSpace brings to the development during their Melbourne site visit. They noticed its ease of use while activating the app and walking the site with the camera, and were impressed with the clarity of the images captured. Conveniently, they can log in remotely anytime to check site progress updates. With routine capture, OpenSpace generates a comprehensive digital representation of the asset for future reference. With OpenSpace, construction and project teams can: - Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders - Identify inefficiencies and minimise waste - Monitor conditions to ensure a safe work environment - Ensure that work is completed as planned Stay tuned as we highlight more technology partners contributing to this exciting project.
