📸🏠 Building Brighter Futures in Rural Simcoe County! United Way Simcoe Muskoka is proud to present funding for *"Creating Supportive Housing and Income Stability in Rural Simcoe County,"* an inspiring community collaborative project led by Camphill Communities Ontario. This project is a key part of our $2.1 million investment into seven collaborative initiatives over the next three years, addressing complex social issues across our region. 💡 The Challenge: Simcoe County faces a growing need for affordable, supportive housing and skilled trades workers. With 18% of the current labour force nearing retirement, the demand for skilled workers is critical. At the same time, vulnerable groups struggle to find safe, affordable housing. 💪 The Solution: This innovative project combines trades training with housing development to create long-lasting impact: 🔨 20,000+ hours of paid pre-employment construction training for underrepresented groups. 🏘️ Construction of 8 new affordable and supportive housing units in rural Simcoe County. 💼 Job creation through paid training and future employment opportunities. 🤝 Community Partners: Camphill Communities Ontario leads this effort in collaboration with: ✔️ Habitat for Humanity Huronia ✔️ Community Builders ✔️ Lakehead University ✔️ Social Innovation at Georgian College 🌍 Regional Impact: Serving Barrie, South Simcoe, and surrounding rural areas, this project brings together the community to build stability, opportunity, and hope for those most in need. 📣 With a commitment of $280,957.50 from United Way over three years, we’re proud to support this vital initiative and help create supportive housing while empowering marginalized groups. Together, we’re building stronger communities. 💙 #UnitedWaySimcoeMuskoka #AffordableHousing #SkilledTrades #Collaboration #CommunityImpact #SimcoeCounty

On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we stand united against gender-based violence. In Canada, a woman is killed by her intimate partner every six days. Together, we can change this. · 67% of Canadians know a woman who has experienced physical or sexual abuse. · Indigenous women are 12x more likely to be murdered or go missing compared to non-Indigenous women. · Children witnessing violence in the home face twice the rate of psychiatric disorders. Let's raise awareness, support those who have experienced violence or are struggling and work towards a future free from violence. If you or someone you know is in need of help, dial 2-1-1 for support and services.

🌟 Exciting Announcement from United Way Simcoe Muskoka! 🌟 📣 We are thrilled to share the Expression of Interest for our new Home Relief Bank program! We’re calling on local community agencies in Simcoe County, District of Muskoka, and Town of The Blue Mountains to partner with us in this important initiative. A Home Relief Bank provides interest-free loans of up to two months' rent or mortgage to help low-to-moderate income earners stay in their homes during tough times. Longer terms and small repayments allow people to get back on their feet, while loan repayments go back into the program to help others in need. 🏠💙 We’re looking to collaborate with community-based agencies who will directly administer this financial assistance to landlords and mortgage holders. Together, we can build a support system for our entire region! 🤝 📅 Info Session: Wednesday, November 20th at 2 p.m. 📲 To learn more visit 🔗www.uwsimcoemuskoka/homereliefbank #HomeReliefBank #UnitedWaySimcoeMuskoka #CommunitySupport #InterestFreeLoans #SimcoeCounty #Muskoka #HomeSupport #CommunityPartnership #FinancialRelief
