In a world where many still grapple with the chains of poverty, I have the opportunity to share my thoughts at the Simba Redzidzo Toastmasters contest through my speech titled "Breaking Free from Dependency: The Power of Self-Reliance in Poverty Eradication." This topic is not just a speech to me it is a call to action. Self reliance is not merely about individual success it is about empowering communities to rise above challenges and creating sustainable pathways out of poverty. I would appreciate your support on this journey to explore how fostering independence can ignite change and transform lives, highlighting the profound impact of self sufficiency in our fight against poverty. #Toastmasters #Empowerment #SelfReliance #PovertyEradication #CommunityImpact

Shining a light on Poverty🔦 . .On this International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, we shine a light on the social and institutional maltreatment experienced by those living in poverty. 🌍💔 . . Poverty is more than just a lack of financial resources; it encompasses the daily struggles and injustices faced by millions. Social exclusion, discrimination, and lack of access to essential services are barriers that perpetuate the cycle of poverty. . . At HALO, we understand the profound impact of these hidden dimensions. As a small family business, we work to restore dignity and hope by cleaning hoarded homes, managing estates after a loss, and handling trauma cleanups. Our mission is to help individuals and families reclaim their spaces and lives, providing a fresh start and a sense of belonging. . . Eradicating global poverty requires us to address these hidden dimensions. By fostering inclusive communities, advocating for fair policies, and ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, and opportunities, we can create a world where everyone has the chance to thrive. . . Let's stand together to break down these barriers and uplift those in need. Every action counts, and together, we can make a difference. 💪❤️ . . #haloteamlove #EndPoverty #HiddenDimensionOfPoverty #SocialJustice #InclusiveCommunities #InternationalDayForEradicationOfPoverty #TogetherWeCan #GlobalChange #HALO #NewBeginnings #hoardedhome #hoardingdisorder #poverty #eradicatepoverty

🌱 Did you know that the simple action of mowing the lawn in Australia when directed to an AOP Africa Program could now help families break out of the cycle of poverty? "Action on Poverty is on a mission to empower changemakers to break the cycle of poverty. And that is exactly what the Voluntasker platform enables. Every day Australians can roll up their sleeves, undertake a small task, and support someone in their local community whilst making an impact on global poverty.” Action on Poverty Senior Executive Meghal Shah spoke to 2GB to share the launch of their new platform Voluntasker, a micro-volunteering marketplace revolutionising the way Australians take action on global poverty whilst supporting their local communities. The Voluntasker platform enables every Australian to put their values of generosity and compassion into practice in a practical hands-on way. It empowers corporates to achieve corporate social responsibility (CSR) aspirations, encourages local community connection, and enables that effort to make a global impact. #ardent #ardentcommunications #actiononpoverty #voluntasker #fullserviceagency #publicrelations #presscoverage #mediacoverage

📊 We have today launched new research on the prevalence of local authority anti-poverty strategies across England. It finds that councils in the north of England and in areas with high levels of poverty are more like to have an anti-poverty strategy in place. ❗ While many councils do have anti-poverty strategies, the majority don’t. Given this, and in light of the Government’s intention to launch a national child poverty strategy in the spring, there is an opportunity for more councils to develop plans to drive down poverty in their area, creating the conditions for the national child poverty strategy to complement and reinforce anti-poverty plans in localities. 👉 Read the report and explore our interactive maps at: https://lnkd.in/ecRtsnjp
