I'm thinking back to last Wednesday at the Association of Industry Sector Councils #WorkForward2024 conference when I had the privilege of presenting about leadership and resilience. One of the key takeaways from the event was the importance of building and strengthening leadership resilience. As leaders, it's essential to guide our teams and foster a sense of resilience within ourselves, enabling us to navigate challenges and create environments where teams can thrive. A big thank you to Ally Mannette for the invitation and for helping bring such a powerful conversation to life. One of the most thought-provoking discussions revolved around a pertinent question: Are employers responsible for employee burnout? This question sparked a lively debate on the role that leaders and organizations play in managing the well-being of their teams. Are we, as employers, doing enough to actively prevent burnout and support mental health, or are we inadvertently contributing to the problem by pushing for greater productivity without adequate care and support systems? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this — how can we create workplaces where resilience is prioritized, and burnout is addressed before it becomes a major issue? What strategies have worked for you in creating a culture of support and well-being within your teams? Let’s continue the conversation! #Leadership #Resilience #EmployeeWellbeing #LeadershipDevelopment #WorkplaceCulture #BurnoutPrevention (Sorry to the half of the room I didn't capture in the photo!)
