𝐅𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐒 is an 𝗘𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗺𝘂𝘀+ 𝗞𝗔𝟮 𝗩𝗘𝗧 project aiming to enhance gender equality in sports through targeted education and awareness initiatives. The project is coordinated by Fondazione Libellula in Italy in cooperation with other two partner in Spain Cámara de Comercio Italiana Barcelona (CCIB) and IES María Enriquez. By offering specialized training to sports educators and fostering inclusivity in sports education, the project strives to reduce gender disparities, challenge stereotypes, and create an environment where all genders can thrive in sports. Ultimately, it seeks to contribute to a more equal and diverse sports landscape. The project "Fostering Gender Education for Sports Staff" is designed to comprehensively address the needs and goals of the participating organisations as well as the identified needs of their target groups. By aligning with their objectives and priorities, it aims to bring about positive change and enhance the capacity of the sports education community to promote gender equality and inclusivity. ParalympicsGB has confirmed the 215 athletes who will participate at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games – with 46 per cent female, the highest ever proportion and even greater gender equality than Tokyo 2020.  With an estimated 45 per cent of the events at the Paralympic Games open to female athletes Paris 2024 promises to be the most gender balanced in history. 

5 Things that I Love About Being a Woman in Sports: 🥰 Getting to bring a fresh perspective to a field in which women are under-represented. 🫶 Being a woman in sports is pushing stereotypes and inspires other women to get involved in the industry. 🤝 I have the opportunity to build relationships with fellow sports professionals who support gender equality. 👩🏭 Working as a woman in sports, I get to be a part of an organization that provides visibility to female athletes and respect for women in sports across the board. 💡 Working in sports means that I can mix passion with career providing myself with an ample creative outlet.

Gender equality in the Olympic Games has seen remarkable progress since the inception of the modern Olympics in 1896 when no women were included. The turning point came in 1900 when 22 women were allowed to participate, which accounted for 2.2% of the athletes. After the First World War, only five events were open to women. By the mid-20th century, this percentage had reached almost 10%. Significant progress was made by the end of the 20th century, with women comprising 40% of the participants. In 2024, the Paris Olympics made a historic achievement by becoming the first Games to achieve full gender parity, with an equal number of male and female athletes participating. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the Olympic Movement's ongoing efforts to promote gender equality in sports. The Bulgarian delegation consists of 54.35% women. ‼️Sport as a Catalyst for Equality‼️ Yesterday I attended the official presentation of the “Equality Moves” campaign, a collaborative initiative by the Ministry for Gender Equality and Diversity and the Ministry of Sports. This campaign highlights that sport is so much more than physical activity. It is a universal language that brings people together, breaks down barriers, and drives societal change. 🫱🏼🫲🏽 It is undeniable that women’s sports still faces many stereotypes and challenges - from the way female athletes are portrayed in the media to unequal opportunites. The historic milestone of equal participation between male and female athletes at the PARIS2024 Olympics was a huge step forward, but it’s far from the finish line. True equality requires continued effort, and this isn’t just a “women’s issue” - it’s a cause that concerns all of us! Each of us has a role to play in breaking down stereotypes, challenging biases, and pushing dor a more inclusive, fair sports culture. CHAMPIONING EQUALITY Gender equality in sports is about providing equal opportunities, respect, and resources for all athletes, regardless of gender. It ensures that both male and female athletes have the same chances to compete, train, and achieve their goals in their chosen sports. This focus on equality in sports helps to shape attitudes towards fairness and mutual respect, making sports a powerful tool for promoting social equality. When we support and promote gender equality, we create a fairer and more balanced world, breaking down stereotypes and inspiring young boys and girls to pursue their dreams with confidence and without barriers. The 2024 Paris Olympics represented a major milestone for gender equality in sports. For the first time in modern Olympic history, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allocated equal quota places for male and female athletes.
