CHAMPIONING EQUALITY Gender equality in sports is about providing equal opportunities, respect, and resources for all athletes, regardless of gender. It ensures that both male and female athletes have the same chances to compete, train, and achieve their goals in their chosen sports. This focus on equality in sports helps to shape attitudes towards fairness and mutual respect, making sports a powerful tool for promoting social equality. When we support and promote gender equality, we create a fairer and more balanced world, breaking down stereotypes and inspiring young boys and girls to pursue their dreams with confidence and without barriers. The 2024 Paris Olympics represented a major milestone for gender equality in sports. For the first time in modern Olympic history, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allocated equal quota places for male and female athletes. Women made up 50% of the 10,500 athletes competing, reflecting a strong commitment to inclusivity and fairness. International Olympic Committee – IOC | Abhinav Bindra Foundation #OlympicValues #OVEP
