One of the advantages of being a recruiter is that you're at the bow of the ship when it comes to seeing employment trends and shifts in the economy. It will be 36 years for me this coming July 5th. I can say with utmost certainty that the economy has slowed a bit and consumer confidence is waning in the face of an upcoming election. When you see companies like Mercury Marine and BRP laying off people, it's a sure sign that people are spending less on leisurely items (boats/motors), and generally being more conscious with their expenditures. I've also heard several people (business owners/managers) in my roundtable group say that they are starting to get unsolicited resumes, which tells me there are more available candidates than we've seen since pre-covid. Even though a slowdown is eminent, we remain very busy because there is still a huge shortage of skilled and technical candidates for many jobs, and several companies are still short staffed. We continue to get orders for a variety of skilled trades and engineering positions. If you or someone you know is looking for a new opportunity, we'd be happy to speak with them.

Is a substitute workforce the solution to ECE staffing challenges? It may not be THE solution but it is an integral part of building and sustaining a strong workforce. Unfortunately, early childhood substitutes are difficulty to find and the cost of substitute placements can be prohibitive. I’m honored to be working with Early Learning Ventures and the Colorado ECE Community to pilot an innovative Substitite Workforce Program intended to build the substitute pool, subsidize costs and create placement efficiencies. How many times have you had a really crappy day and you made sure to tell every person as if that disclaimer was necessary? And maybe it was. Maybe your day was so bad that your mood and personality were effected by whatever had happened that day. Maybe your ability to do your job or just be present with your family were negatively impacted by the series of events that led you to spread your bad day to others. I’m guilty of this. Maybe more than a few people I know. I have a million reasons why that I could use as excuses and I know I can let a couple of things completely ruin my productivity and not even consider how it may also affect the people around me. Negativity is a disease.. and it’s contagious. But so is positivity. And when you see a young man like this senior who graduated last week from Famers Branch I hope it makes you stop the next time you catch yourself spreading the negativity. And choose positivity. Midyear Resolution 2024: Be the POSITIVE! #texasjobs #dallasmedicaljobs #rpcstaffing #rpc #positivityspreads #recruiter #dallasjobs #2024 #nowhiring #job

It's a Big Day when U.S. News & World Report releases its annual Best Places to Live rankings and stories. That happened today, and you can find our 25 Best Places to Live and Best Affordable Places to Live slideshows. This year, we moved to city data instead of metro area data, which further localizes our rankings and allows readers to consider factors that reflect the livability and overall experiences of a given place. It caused quite a bit of reshuffling in the rankings, so check it out. Fun fact: OKC and Huntsville were in a dead heat in the Best Places popularity contest. They're the only two places in the top 25 on all 3 big lists: Best Places to Live, Best Affordable Places to Live and Fastest-Growing Places to Live. Huntsville wins the tiebreaker with its No. 50 spot on the Best Places to Retire ranking (OKC is No. 109). They may not have been on your radar, but you may want to give them a look. Also notable: *There are eight places in the top 25 on both Best Places and Affordable lists. *Five places are in the top 25 on Best Places and Fastest-Growing. *One place (Brownsville, Texas) makes the top 25 on Most Affordable and Fastest-Growing.

"It can be a challenge to re-enter the workforce after taking a prolonged career break for personal reasons (caregiving responsibilities, significant illness/disability or immigration to Canada). As part of our DEI strategy, we’ve created the Career Re-Entry Program – designed to provide flexible, part-time work for candidates, while Enbridge gets to tap into an overlooked demographic of talented professionals.
