Is a substitute workforce the solution to ECE staffing challenges? It may not be THE solution but it is an integral part of building and sustaining a strong workforce. Unfortunately, early childhood substitutes are difficulty to find and the cost of substitute placements can be prohibitive. I’m honored to be working with Early Learning Ventures and the Colorado ECE Community to pilot an innovative Substitite Workforce Program intended to build the substitute pool, subsidize costs and create placement efficiencies. Workforce development has never been more important. As we prepare our next generation to enter the construction industry, it’s imperative that we equip them with a firm understanding of the array of opportunities and possibilities that lay before them. From state legislation to associations like AGC of Kansas, the amount of support that they’ve given to post-secondary education has been unprecedented in our state. It’s exciting to see programs like Build Up Kansas take such big strides in Kansas’ workforce development.

GO BIG SO YOU MAKE ROOM FOR OTHERS! It's the last Sunday of 2024 as we recall COUNTLESS people received pink slips (LAYOFFS) this year. The same thing happened in 2023, 2022, 2021 and over 50 million in 2020 yet most haven't learned if you're a credible person, with a heart for serving others, you can build a legit, licensed, results-driven business even by phone. In 2025, you can "own what you do" within a proven business building platform of 83,000 and growing licensed agents where you're highly compensated for serving families then earn even more compensation for your leadership development of others. We are in a serious supply and demand business. High demand, low inventory of full-time licensed Financial Professionals so the recruiting is 24/7 and 365. You can build a business as big as your imagination so DREAM BIGGER in 2025, much BIGGER and take action that not only helps you but can help others. Watch video. Interview. Go fully remote. Start part-time staying college or keeping your job if you have one. Give it 1,000%. Change your life! Employers: stop offering inadequate comp for the education level, longevity and applicable skills. Employees learned what they come to the job with either through years of working or formal education. If you want to attract and retain talent you need to evaluate your total comp annually and stop under cutting.

I spent many years having what I can only imagine to be an extended anxiety attack from mid-July to early September lol. Last minute career fairs, interviews all day, planning PD all night ... Don't let that be you! School leaders, talent leaders, operations leaders - you can't always do it all yourself. It's okay to ask for help and my team is here to support. #backtoschool #education #fractionalstaffing #schooloperations

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development recently shared an update for the Jobs for America's Graduates program (JAG) in Indiana. It's recognized as one of the most successful in the nation with an over 97% participant graduation rate, over $23.3 million in scholarships earned by the class of 2024 and over 40,000 students served so far. Read more about the program here (note: some of the numbers have gotten even better since the article was published!): https://loom.ly/rG_UXfk

Recently, Paul Fain highlighted the need of youth apprenticeship programs in our workforce in his newsletter “The Job.” He instantly noted that employers need to take a more active role in the U.S. education system to establish career pathways for a broader range of Americans, especially those without four-year degrees. Despite bipartisan support and the pressing demands of the labor market, progress in this area has been slow at best. Noting two The Brookings Institution reports, he commented that the best approach to solving this need is through regional, multi-sector coalitions, a goal CareerWise and our partners have been working toward for years. He quotes Annelies Goger, a Brookings Metro fellow and co-author of the report: “The changes that we propose involve a transformative shift in how employers in the U.S. have seen themselves, from being a consumer of talent to being a co-producer of talent… Eventually, more employers will come to the conclusion that they have to play a more active role in creating the prepared workforce they need.” You can read the entire newsletter where he explores “A Unified Voice on Workforce Needs” here: https://lnkd.in/g_wEEgqn?
