Attention California parents! Did you know that up to $1,500 is available to low income, foster, and/or homeless kids in grades K-12 attending public schools in the state? That's right! This money can be used towards college savings and is waiting for up to 3.6 million eligible kids. However, only 350,000 parents have claimed their kids' accounts so far. Don't let this opportunity slip away! For many families in marginalized communities, this sum of money is a fortune, and it could be the jump start that kids need to become happier and wealthier adults. Studies show that college graduates make an average of $1,000,000 more over their lifetime than those with only a high school diploma. Moreover, owning a college fund with at least $500 makes a child 3x more likely to attend college and 4x less likely to drop out. So, if you know anyone who is from a low-income household with grade school kids, please encourage them to sign up at www.calkids.org. Remember, sometimes all a kid needs is a little lift.
Join us in celebrating this amazing CalKIDS milestone—350K accounts claimed and counting! 🎉 Now it’s your turn. Keep the momentum going by claiming your eligible child's free funded CalKIDS college savings account. They could receive up to $1,500 for college or career training. The time is now. The Tampa Bay Chamber Board of Directors unanimously supports both the Community Investment Tax (CIT) renewal and the education millage increase as critical investments in Hillsborough County's future. The CIT renewal would provide $3.8 billion over 15 years for essential infrastructure projects, with major allocations for transportation (41.4%), public safety (23.4%), and other vital services that support economic growth and quality of life. The education millage would generate $177 million annually to address severe staffing shortages in schools, with 92% dedicated to raising teacher and support staff pay to competitive levels, as Hillsborough currently faces critical vacancies and Florida ranks 50th nationally in teacher compensation. I was practicing doing this presentation that teaches people the development of disabilities about the importance of a house lease When people receive services Are on a house lease, they are entitled to many rights. Recipient rights The Home Community Based Services That gives people rights to do things that they choose to When you educate on the situation, this better helps people understand. How can they say money? How can they have a choice of their roommate? Being on the house, please, can really be a tough thing. That's why we believe that this is something educational that should take place. Understanding with really experience, this has been a very big issue for quite a few years in my accounting. People have probably heard me bring this issue up a lot when I get other advocacy work. The ability to be taken advantage of by the house lease is not only emotional, but it's devastating. This is where we had a broken system. Housing education is very important Getting people the economy in their own homes is a very important Blake Perry Self-Advocate Consulting LLC It was developed. To be able to do something that was not being done, giving people advocacy on housing rights and information My story of housing advocacy is something that many people know. https://lnkd.in/erRnj7Ar

Yesterday, we broke ground on the Regional Workforce Training Center, a 67,000+ sq. ft., $34.5 Million project that will allow us to double our Engineering Systems Technology Program, expand Non-Credit Workforce Solutions offerings, and provide a community space for West Tennessee to host gatherings. “This building will be like no other in the country,” said TBR Chancellor Flora Tydings. “It is being designed [with students in mind], with what students do every single day, but it is also being designed to be flexible. Because we don’t know who all the companies that might locate in Jackson, Tennessee and we need to be able to change on a dime what we’re doing in this building to accommodate any new industry when it comes down the road. We’ll be able to do that. The building will be flexible. It will be a building that for the next 60 years we hope will be the pride of Jackson and will continue to bring students and companies into this area.” Full story on the news section of our website.
