🌟 Making Life Lighter for Our Children This year’s Children in Need 2024 campaign, “The Heaviest Backpack,” delivered a powerful message: 1 in 5 children are facing a mental health issue. That’s not just a statistic - it’s a clear call to action. These challenges weigh heavily on young shoulders, but together, we can help lighten the load. At Focus Foundation, we’re deeply inspired by this message. We believe in building positive relationships and providing community support to protect children and foster resilience. Whether it’s funding mental health initiatives, creating safe spaces, or championing youth-led projects, our mission aligns with the idea that no child should carry life’s burdens alone. 💡 What can we all learn from Children in Need? That every effort matters - no matter how small - in supporting young people to thrive. 👉 Let’s work together to make life a little lighter for the next generation. Because together, we can. #ChildrenInNeed #SupportingYouth #TogetherWeCan

Half of all adult mental health challenges in Australia take root before the age of 14, yet more than half of children struggling with mental ill-health aren't receiving the professional help they need. This highlights an urgent need to rethink how we support young people. Social prescribing offers a fresh, community-focused solution to nurture the well-being of our youth. Grounded in the idea that 'it takes a village to raise a child,' social prescribing connects young people with enriching activities in their community, such as sports, arts, social groups, or nature-based programs. These connections are more than just fun—they can significantly boost mental and physical health, build social skills, and nurture confidence and self-esteem. By helping young people access these resources, we not only support their individual growth but also strengthen the bonds within our communities. It’s a powerful reminder that raising happy, healthy children is a shared responsibility, and a connected community is the foundation for their success. #socialprescribing #mentalhealth #worldchildrensday #worldchildrensday2024 #support #inclusion

Want an easy way to #supportlocal? 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 That easy! Why? Every year we see an increase in demand and complexity, with more young people struggling with their mental health. Since the pandemic we have seen record numbers of young people presenting with more complex challenges, younger children self harming and talking about suicide. At the same time we are seeing more competition for funding and less funding available, with rising costs impacting on how far our funding will stretch. So two things you can do to help right now... 1. Vote for us using the QR code or this link https://lnkd.in/eE9VuXxm 2. In the quiet corners of our communities, there are families grappling with the heavy burdens of trauma. Yet, despite the weight of their struggles, the basic support they desperately need is often just out of reach. We believe that the road to mental wellness begins at home with practical support, such as decluttering and deep cleaning. These actions are more than just chores; they are the first, essential steps toward healing and stability. However, startling data reveals a disheartening truth: vast amounts of government funds are funneled into interventions that, rather than lifting these families up, often bring them no substantial relief. It’s time to challenge the status quo and redirect these resources towards positive, practical support systems. We must raise our voices! It is unjust that those in vulnerable positions are overlooked and under-supported. Every family deserves to thrive in a nurturing environment, yet many are denied this basic right. 🤝 This is the core of our mission. We exist to speak out, to step up, and to secure the early intervention supports that can truly make a difference. ✊ Let’s unite for the cause. Let’s demand better. For support, justice, and the dignity every family deserves. #MentalWellness #JusticeForFamilies #SupportNotStigma #EarlyIntervention #SpeakUp #ChangeMakers #CommunitySupport #FamilyRights
