Today, marked both #WorldMentalHealthDay and #WorldHomelessDay —two causes that are deeply connected and central to the work we do at HACT. At HACT, we know that housing is more than just a roof over your head—it’s the foundation for every aspect of your wellbeing. Many people facing homelessness struggle with mental health challenges, and without stable housing, accessing the care and support individuals might need becomes even more difficult. That's why we are committed to supporting the creation of sustainable, healthy homes and communities that promote both physical and mental wellbeing. On this important day, let’s remember that housing and mental health go hand in hand and continue to work towards a future where everyone has a safe place to call home. #Housing #EndHomelessness #SocialImpact

Addressing the Loophole in Mental Health Recovery: The Case for Independent Housing In the pursuit of recovery for individuals with mental health conditions, we must critically examine the systems in place that are meant to support them. One glaring loophole is the current housing policy that requires two names per rental flat, which can inadvertently force mentally ill or neurodiverse individuals to live with others who may also be struggling. This arrangement can create significant challenges, including the risk of conflicts and emotional triggers that can lead to frequent hospitalizations. Rather than promoting recovery, this setup can hinder progress and exacerbate mental health issues. The need for independent housing tailored to individual needs is paramount. By allowing individuals the autonomy to choose their living arrangements, we can create safer and more supportive environments conducive to healing. Independent housing not only empowers those recovering from mental illness but also reduces the likelihood of conflicts that can arise in shared living situations. It’s time for us to advocate for housing policies that prioritize mental health recovery and well-being. Let’s work towards creating systems that support independence, reduce hospitalization rates, and foster genuine recovery. #MentalHealth #HousingPolicy #Recovery #Neurodiversity #Advocacy

The power of #SingleParentsSupport is often underestimated. How we support single parents in our communities, workplace, and every part of society is a reflection of our values, especially when it comes to affordable housing and mental health. Let Simone Biles' brave act at the Olympics remind us of a defining statement: prioritizing mental health is not an option, it's a necessity. 🧠💚 Single parents face many challenges daily, from striving to provide stable housing, balancing work and parenting duties, to dealing with legal and custody issues. These struggles may lead to severe stress and mental health issues.🏠👪🏥💼📚 Are we doing enough? Have we embraced our social responsibility? We challenge you to reflect on these questions. Your company’s support can make a significant difference for single parents. Support us to build better futures for single-parent families: 👉 https://lnkd.in/gvSp_HKx. Lets translate our shared commitment into active involvement. Let's promote #CommunityDevelopment and #SupportSingleParents together. Remember, your simple act of liking, commenting, and following us can help amplify the voice for #AffordableHousing #CBAHousing and #MentalHealth. As the challenges faced by families continue to grow, so does the demand for our support services. The current cost of living crisis has placed significant strain on many families we assist, exacerbating issues such as isolation, mental health concerns, and difficulties in managing children's behaviour. Coupled with existing challenges like housing instability and family conflicts, our parents and caregivers require increasingly comprehensive support. Our organisation plays a vital role in providing assistance during these trying times, offering essential help to navigate these complex situations. Helping to give children the best possible start in life, this ethos of support and early intervention underpins everything we do. 🌍 Yesterday was Mental Health & Homelessness Awareness Day 🌍 At RH Plumbing & Heating, we understand that mental health and homelessness are issues that can impact anyone—both in and outside of the workplace. While these challenges might often be unseen, they can have a profound effect on our colleagues, friends, and families. We believe that creating a supportive environment at work is key. That’s why we have an Open Door Policy —a place where all our team members feel safe and comfortable discussing any concerns, whether they relate to mental health, personal challenges, or well-being. 🗣️ It’s important to us that everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered to seek help when needed. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and we're here to make sure our team knows they're not alone. Let’s continue to raise awareness and encourage open conversations around these vital issues. Together, we can make a difference—at work and in our communities. #MentalHealthAwareness #HomelessnessAwareness #OpenDoorPolicy #SupportEachOther #RHPlumbingAndHeating #MentalWellbeing #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeSupport
