  • ✨ 12 Days of Hope for the Holidays ✨ Lasting effects of Childhood Sexual Abuse For many survivors, the effects of childhood sexual abuse don’t end with childhood. The adult survivors of childhood abuse we see struggle with severe anxiety and depression, often numbing their pain with addiction and self-harm. The children and young people we see show signs of severe anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression, with up to 50% reporting suicidal thoughts. Almost half engage in self-harm, while others try to regain control of their lives through eating disorders. Help a survivor of childhood sexual abuse access therapy to relieve these symptoms this Christmas 🎄 : https://lnkd.in/eY7v2Fg9

  • ✨ 12 Days of Hope for the Holidays ✨ What is Art Therapy? 🎨 Young survivors in Crawley can access Art Therapy. During sessions, survivors use various media, techniques, and equipment to help enable understanding, self-reflection, and communication through imagery, shape, line, and colour. The artwork becomes the language of the client's inner world. Working this way provides a safe, reflective distance from trauma, enabling survivors to transform images and reframe their thoughts. • ✨ 12 Days of Hope for the Holidays ✨ What is Play therapy? Play therapy is a type of therapy that helps children to explore their feelings, to express themselves and to make sense of their difficult life experiences. Children are given a safe and confidential space where they are free to explore their expression through play, which is the child's natural way of learning, communicating and exploring their world. Children use play first and speech second. You could help to provide hope to survivors of childhood sexual abuse this Christmas by donating here 🎄 : https://lnkd.in/eY7v2Fg9
