In this video, we explore the idea of a university designed specifically for blind and visually impaired individuals in India. While it sounds like a positive step toward inclusion, there might be unintended consequences. We discuss potential challenges like: 1️⃣ Social Isolation: Could an exclusive university create a "blind ghetto" hindering integration into mainstream society? 2️⃣ Faculty Concerns: Will these universities attract top-tier educators and specialists for blind students? 3️⃣ STEM Education Gap: Are there established teaching methods for complex subjects like math and science for the visually impaired? 4️⃣ Mainstreaming Challenges: Might exclusive universities lead to other universities closing their doors to blind students? This video is not meant to dismiss the importance of accessibility in education. It's a call for thoughtful discussion on the best way to achieve true inclusion for blind students in higher education. #BlindEducation #DisabilityInclusion #UniversityForAll #India #STEMEducation

What do you think young people come to school for? Before you read further, write down your answer somewhere. When I posed this question with our 6th graders at Khoj*, many said - "Padhne ke liye (to study)." "Kuchh naya seekhne ke liye (to learn something new)." "Khelne ke liye (to play)." And so on. I guess, they are also at that age when they say things they think adults want to hear. In the same circle though, a few of them said, "dosto se milne ke liye (to meet our friends)." Since last week, this has been playing on my mind. How often do we think of schools as places where young people come to build, sustain and enjoy friendships? When I think of my own school, I remember that it was indeed a KEY purpose to return to my boarding school after every break. To meet my friends. During my masters in education, we have often pondered over the purpose of education. Not that we never spoke about schools serving the role of socialisation. But to articulate it in this way... that, schools are places where young people come to meet their friends.... How incredibly different does the design of schools need to be then? I am thinking what are those spaces where they actually get to be with their friends? And how often do we, the adults come in the way of that? What does that do to their ability to form and forge friendships? How may educators facilitate community building in the school and in classrooms? Would love to hear your thoughts. . . . . . Thank you, Sangeeta Zombade , Sadiah and Khushboo for co-holding this space together. #education #children #purpose #schools #wellbeing #Community #students #friendships #friends SVP India Mala Chadha Karishma Dixit Amit Wagh Suvarna Apte Dalvie Rishabh Lalani Charles-Antoine Janssen Chetna Duggal Charles Tan Gunjali Singh * Khoj is Apni Shala's SEL-aligned school initiative.

As we approach this cherished occasion of Children’s Day in India, our focus shifts from history to the boundless potential within every child. With their hundred billion neurons, each child holds a world of possibility, waiting to be nurtured and guided. It is our duty to help children recognize their unique strengths, fostering self-awareness, confidence, resilience, and a commitment to giving their best in everything they do. Instilling the right mindsets, nurturing the "Habits of Mind" in these ‘taare zameen par’ (stars on earth) is essential. To achieve this, parents, educators, and society as a whole must embrace a Growth Mindset, helping children to understand that it is okay to stumble—as long as they rise one more time than they fall. Building Emotional Quotient (EQ) is far more significant than simply boosting IQ, as EQ forms the foundation for enduring success and happiness. Rather than focusing on superficial or material enhancements, let’s water their curiosity, warm them with love, and nourish them with encouragement. In doing so, each child will blossom beautifully in life’s garden. Today, let us renew our commitment to supporting children’s rights, care, and education, empowering them to explore new frontiers with confidence and joy. Let’s honor the child within each of us—the spark of pure wonder, curiosity, and passion to uplift others. On this joyful occasion celebrating innocence and potential, Team SVEA wishes you all a Happy Children’s Day! #stvivekanandaenglishacademy #witness30 #glorytothee #svea #BestSchoolinGuwahati #education #youngminds #learningisfun #qualityeducation #learningandgrowing #ChildrensDay #TopSchoolinGuwahati #SchoolinGuwahati #betterversionofyourself #resilience #kidseducation #kidslearning #Education #Student #BestSchoolInGuwahati #GuwahatiStudents #NationalEducationPolicy #NEP2020 #EducationGuwahati

𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 "𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆"? Both parents and teachers should nurture curiosity in kids to unlock their potential. This can be done by encouraging kids to ask questions and explore new ideas, read along with them and teach them to embrace learning. As kids grow, curiosity drives them to innovate, solve problems in unique ways and tackle challenges be it life or work. If you want to partner with us to be a part of holistic education across government schools in India that nurtures curiosity, out-of-the-box thinking and scientific temper, reach out to any of the below ILP team members.
