We are thrilled to announce the launch of the THINC Foundation, a new 501(c)(3) educational advocacy nonprofit that is dedicated to promoting Transparency, Honesty, and Integrity in the Classroom. THINC’s mission is to champion an inclusive approach to Ethnic Studies education that promotes multicultural acceptance and prepares students to succeed in an increasingly diverse nation, while fighting the "Liberated" approach to Ethnic Studies education. Inclusive Ethnic Studies highlights the achievements, struggles, and contributions of America's rich tapestry of ethnic groups, neither shying away from historical prejudice nor letting it define our present. We want our classrooms to cultivate curiosity, mutual understanding, and respect, where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. Liberated Ethnic Studies (LES) – a critical race theory-informed political ideology that often is called “Critical Ethnic Studies” – teaches kids to see everything through the lens of race. This worldview inverts Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous dream of judging individuals by the content of their character rather than by their skin color. LES sees success as a zero-sum game, teaching our children to distrust and resent one another, and attributes all unequal outcomes to racism. For the sake of our shared American future, LES can't be allowed to expand further. THINC will combat it by gathering data, providing resources to grassroots advocates, and raising awareness about the dangers of LES across the country. We look forward to partnering with educators, parents, other nonprofit organizations, and communities to create classrooms where children are taught how to think, not what to think. Learn more about THINC at https://thinc.org/ and join us in shaping a brighter future for all students. #THINCCritically #InclusiveEthnicStudies #THINCForKids #THINCAboutOurSchools #THINCAboutOurFuture #EducationNotActivism #EducationNotPolitics

THE IMPORTANCE OF USING ART TO TEACH CHILDREN Incorporating art into children's education isn't just about fostering creativity—it's about shaping well-rounded individuals who are better equipped to face the future. In a world dominated by screens, many parents rely on technology to keep their children engaged. often overlooking the profound benefits of hands-on arts and crafts. Beyond just fun, these simple creative activities are crucial for a child's development, enhancing cognitive, social, and emotional skills, boosting problem-solving abilities to foster teamwork and building confidence. Studies show that students who engage in the arts are 4 times more likely to be recognised for academic achievement and 3 times more likely to win an award for school attendance. As we roll out our children's education rights program in some African countries this year, we're championing the use of art to teach vital life skills. From critical thinking to emotional intelligence, art serves as a powerful tool for unlocking potential and nurturing a generation of confident, capable young leaders. Art isn't just a subject—it's a medium for change, connection, and empowerment. By bringing this approach to the heart of education, we're helping children express themselves, understand their rights, and build brighter futures. Join us in supporting this transformative initiative and empowering the next generation to thrive through the power of art! #Education #ArtInEducation #ChildrensRights #Empowerment #Africa #GlobalImpact #EducaciónDiversa

Just wrapped an incredible training at a local high school, where I had the honor of teaching students about their civic rights through our "Easy to Learn Your Rights" program. Watching the lightbulb moments happen as we broke down complex topics using relatable, everyday language was powerful. It's not just about knowing your rights—it’s about equipping young people, especially those most impacted by harmful systems, to use those rights. This training isn’t just theory—it’s real-life skills they can take with them, empowering them to be advocates for themselves and their communities. 💡 Imagine if we brought this kind of program into more schools: role-playing scenarios, mock hearings, and hands-on practice to truly prepare students to disrupt the systems that impact them the most. That's the vision. Teachers, administrators, or youth advocates—let’s connect. I’m ready to collaborate with professionals who share this mission to design programs that lastingly empower the next generation. Drop me a message if you're ready to build something innovative together! ✊🏽 #EmpowermentThroughEducation #KnowYourRights #YouthAdvocacy #DisruptSystems #MassIncarceration #EducationForChange #CollaborationForImpact ---

Today we continue our Tell Your Story series with a focus on amplifying Student Voice through the lens of our next global standard for thriving: Strategy. Great schools understand the importance of honouring the new social contract of education – today’s learning for tomorrow’s world – by aligning all of their work towards the quality of the citizens who their educational programs will shape. If students are imbued with a deep understanding of how to balance the opportunities and obligations that arise from their mature membership of their communities, then schools will know that they have succeeded; schools exist not just to sustain themselves but to serve their communities. They model this service intentionally so that the voices of their students become the voices of true servants concerned for their: - Purpose, Commitment & Contribution: students generate a sense of purpose and connect this to their participation in the classroom, co-curricular activities and the wider life of the school. - Community, Inclusion & Citizenship: students have a circle of school friends from diverse backgrounds, perspectives and/or year groups. The hopes represented through these voices need to be influenced by a perspective that balances the local, regional and global communities in which students find themselves situated. In time, they need to be bolstered by capabilities in detailed planning and organisation that can turn aspiration into reality. #youmatter
