I’m an optimist to my core. It’s what has kept me going at Revel the past 7 years. So even when things look uncertain — like a lot does right now — I like to look at the silver linings. In many ways, 2024 was really a special year. For my family, for Revel, and for my city. These are my top 5 highlights of last year: 1. This is the most recent one, and it beats out the others by a lot. On November 24th, my wife Mirjam Grünenfelder-Reig gave birth to our first child, beautiful Clara Selene Reig! Mirjam is recovering exceptionally well and little Clara has brought so much joy into our lives already! Ok on to the less but still exciting business and quality of life wins. 2. Revel landed deals to build the largest fast charging sites at NYC’s two home turf airports, JFK (24 stalls) and LGA (48 stalls). Plainly put, these will be some of the most lucrative charging stations in the country and the backbone of the city’s rideshare electrification push. JFK as well as our first Bay Area site (12 stalls in the Mission District) broke ground last month and will be open in a matter of weeks. We also opened our first public station in Manhattan this year, 10 of the city’s fastest chargers on Pier 36. 3. After false starts and stops, congestion pricing finally has the green light! I wrote in the Daily News this summer why I think it’ll actually be good for rideshare drivers and customers to free up the roads and move a little faster. But more than that, this will massively reduce tailpipe emissions in the densest part of our city. Let’s keep the momentum, expand open street programs and pedestrianize everywhere we can. 4. The Green Rides Initiative is in full swing. Hats off to David Do and the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission for focusing on progress. Over 10,000 new EVs hit the road, Revel’s charging use spiked 10x, and New Yorkers took over 14 million electric trips. 5. As a lifelong Mets fan, I have to mention the subway series that almost was. Everyone will tell you that being a Mets fan is an act of love. They came up from one of the worst season starts to get an arm’s reach from the World Series. It’s what this team does best — give us hope and a promise that next season could be the one. It’s a good lesson for every part of life. Wishing everyone a great New Year, and feel free to share some of your highlights in the comments!

"We are not putting a handful of chargers in a grocery store parking lot, Revel installs anywhere from 10 to 60 fast chargers on a site. That kind of volume is an assurance of reliability for drivers, so they know when they come to one of our stations, there will be a working charger available for them." - Robert Familiar, Revel spokesperson

Electrifying news!⚡ We just broke ground on the largest electric vehicle charging station at JFK International Airport. The installation of 24 new Revel chargers will more than double the airport's current charging capacity. These fast chargers will be operational and available round-the-clock to the public and for-hire vehicles in early 2025. "Meeting the needs of for-hire vehicle drivers and others visiting our airports is a top priority." said Port Authority Chairman Kevin O'Toole. "We want to support the shift to clean energy at our facilities, and that includes partnering with companies like Revel to make sure electric vehicle charging infrastructure is available, accessible, and convenient for everyone." Super proud of the team on this one, going from lease signing to opening in just a few months. Airport trips are the most sought after rides for Uber, Lyft and Revel drivers. We’re expecting some of the highest utilization in the country at this site. Thanks to the The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey for partnering with us once again!
