"Bus Network Redesign was the result of dedication and communication from our MBTA’s BNR team, supporting T departments, and our community and municipal partners, who have worked with a shared goal to improve connectivity and service. Our bus network is a key component of our system and with the leadership of Governor Healey and the support of the Legislature, we are rebuilding our workforce allowing us to restore and enhance bus service. As part of this initial launch, we’re working hard to inform riders of the improvements coming from these changes. I thank our staff and the many volunteers that have devoted time to meeting directly with riders to prepare for this launch,” said General Manager and CEO Phillip Eng. “Boston communities and surrounding cities deserve more reliable and accessible transportation, and we are committed to deliver that for them.” This morning, General Manager Eng rode the new Route 104 along with MassDOT Undersecretary Morrison, Massport CEO Davey, local officials, and MBTA staff to celebrate the implementation of Bus Network Redesign - Phase 1. Route 104 is now a Frequent Bus Route with service every 15 minutes or better and crosstown connections between Malden Center, Everett, Chelsea, and Airport station. “The public deserves and expects timely and accurate real time information to plan their journeys. This app is just one component as we improve communication. MBTA Go will help us be even more transparent allowing riders to have information to make decisions on travel, particularly for those that rely on our system every day. We hope users will give us feedback as we continue development,” said General Manager and CEO Eng. We released our new MBTA Go app - the official mobile app for live service info - now available on iPhones with iOS 16.4 or later. Check arrival times, track vehicles, and learn about the latest service disruptions with more features to come. “Stations are the gateway to our system and they are integral to the communities that we serve. With the hiring of these new Subway Line Managers, we’re taking significant steps in demonstrating our commitment toward transforming the rider experience,” said General Manager and CEO Eng. “In just over a year, we’ve maximized our efforts while performing track work, making our stations cleaner, safer, and more welcoming. I hope riders see and feel that improvements are happening, and our team members, under Dennis Varley’s leadership, want every rider to take pride in their public transit system right here in Massachusetts. So, I welcome Amanda Bright, Mike Brunache, Alexander Soto, and Jaleesa Turner for being on the team and taking on this challenge.” Learn more about our new Subway Line Managers: https://ow.ly/gMON50U6rW6 #MBTA #PublicTransportation #Career #Boston #Massachusetts
