Our President and CEO, Robert Lewis Jr., recently joined The Nonprofit Show for an electrifying conversation about his journey and the impactful work of Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston. In this episode, Robert reflects on how his lived experiences shape his leadership and emphasizes that this work is not about “fixing” young people, but transforming the systems around them. His message: true community transformation comes from collaboration and investing in the potential of youth. 🎙️ Listen to the full episode now: https://lnkd.in/e26Yumji

I recently had the privilege of visiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston’s Charlestown club with executive director Derek Gallagher. Derek, who truly is the very heart of this vibrant local club, remarked that he can see the BMS and Sanofi buildings in East Cambridge from his office (the third photo below). I couldn’t help but think about what we, as an industry, can do to make sure that the only thing standing between BGCB kids and a career in this industry is the highway in front of those lab buildings. It was only fitting that we ran into Nya when we arrived, sporting her Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute's academy shirt, demonstrating the power we have to spark an interest in STEM and change lives. I'm thrilled to be serving as co-chair for BGCB’s Annual Dinner on January 30, 2025 with Thomas O'Brien of HYM Investments. Please consider joining me in sponsoring the dinner and the life-changing community development work of the clubs: https://lnkd.in/edAxp9XK. Check out some of my recent photos from Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston’s Edgerley Family Holiday Service Day! BGCB is so much more than an afterschool program—it’s a COMMUNITY and events like this beautifully highlight the heart of what we do. I’m so grateful for the privilege to capture these moments and to be part of such an incredible Club community.

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing partners and volunteers who made this weekend’s Edgerley Family Holiday Service Day possible! 🥦🍎🥕 Special shoutout to Hydro Québec and Shaw's Supermarkets for sponsoring the event and fueling our efforts to pack over 3,000 bags of fresh produce, canned goods, and pasta. Your support helps us make a real impact in the fight against food insecurity. 🙌 We also want to recognize the incredible volunteers from Jack and Jill Boston, Lincoln Financial, and our very own BGCB Board and Friends Councils for rolling up their sleeves and helping us bring this vision to life. 💪 Click here to see the full photo gallery from the day: https://lnkd.in/e4kHwssn John Capone Janelle Woods-McNish, MBA (she/her) Hydro-Québec Clean Energy Benjamin Dudley Québec Government Office in Boston ACT | The Alliance for Climate Transition
