  • 📢 𝐊𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 – 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦) On 17-18 December 2024, the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, in collaboration with Penal Reform International, organised the second phase of the workshop titled “𝘌𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦: 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘌𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦.” The workshop, attended by 30 participants from Kuwait Public Prosecution Office, aims to strengthen the effectiveness of judicial procedures in the country. Building on the successes of the first phase, which was held on 27 November, 2024 and lasted two days, the agenda focuses on: ✅ Interrogation procedures and safeguards, the right to defense and the lawyer’s role.  ✅ Pretrial detention and alternatives, including conditions, mechanisms and justifications.  ✅ Digital evidence and its impact on crime proof and justice outcomes.  ✅ Enhancing trial efficiency through judicial specialisation for specific categories. This initiative is part of the cooperation agreement between the Kuwait Institute and Penal Reform International to advance judicial training and foster a fair trial environment.
