Nestled between the vibrancy of the City and the creativity of East London, Alma is British Land's inaugural Build-to-Rent development, creating new opportunities to live, work, and play in the heart of Aldgate. With 159 luxury apartments, flexible workspaces, and vibrant leisure areas, the project was designed to reflect the area’s character while prioritising design excellence and sustainable practices that respect both people and the environment. Our Living team collaborated with British Land, Woods Bagot, and operator Native Communities to deliver comprehensive FF&E services from concept to completion. This included designing, sourcing, and installing high-quality furniture and accessories for the apartments and social spaces, with a focus on timeless design, responsible sourcing, and sensitivity to the local community. In response to the complex FF&E brief – encompassing functionality, sustainability, community context, and materiality – we developed predominantly bespoke furniture, perfectly tailored to Alma’s specific needs. This bespoke approach ensured the designs reflected the project's vision while aligning with British Land's commitment to sustainability and quality. We're excited to share TFP’s 2024 Design Debrief, a report built by our team using insights gathered from this year’s leading design fairs and our ongoing collaborations with manufacturers. This year, we’ve seen a clear shift towards a more impact-driven mindset, with brands showcasing designs centred on sustainability, adaptability, and well-being. Our report delves into these key themes, exploring topics such as waste-capturing products, design for repair, and flexible, comfort-enhancing solutions. It also features product launches from more than 50 brands, as seen at events including Stockholm Furniture Fair, 3daysofdesign, Clerkenwell Design Week, London Design Festival, and ORGATEC Cologne. December features Shelby as the star of TFP's Dog Calendar, lounging on the Konami Sofa by Fredericia Furniture. In celebration of International Dog Day last year we collaborated with our manufacturers to create a special calendar featuring our beloved office dogs. By supporting Battersea Dogs & Cats Home with this initiative, together with our manufacturers we raised £6,500 for this fantastic organisation. Our sincere thanks go out to everyone involved! #battersea #TFPCharity #DogCalendar #2024calendar #furniture #fredericia

Myo New Street Square has transformed a 2008 office building into a tranquil, nature-inspired environment that emphasises sustainability and flexibility. Designed by architects dMFK, the building has achieved WELL Platinum certification, reflecting its commitment to creating a healthy, restorative space for everyone who works there. In collaboration with DMFK and Myo, we specified furniture to support their vision of flexible, adaptable workspaces and timeless design. The interiors seamlessly blend travertine, mid-toned oak, and lush greenery with high-quality furniture to create an inviting, productive, and comfortable atmosphere. Each floor features communal breakout areas, amenity spaces, and rentable offices, with versatile pieces that can be easily reconfigured to suit different occasions and needs. The building also features a rooftop pavilion with sweeping views of London’s iconic landmarks, offering a serene space for residents to unwind or host clients. Buro Happold’s new Shoreditch workspace, designed by Gensler, embodies transparency, sustainability, and innovation, showcasing the world-leading engineering firm’s dedication to circular design and locally sourced materials. In collaboration with Gensler, we selected furniture that aligns with Buro Happold’s values, focusing on reuse and local production. By repurposing existing pieces and sourcing new designs from within a 100-mile radius, we reduced the project’s carbon footprint while creating a space that blends industrial aesthetics with modern functionality. In the new office, 74% of the task chairs, 87% of the soft seating, and 67% of the café tables have been reused from Buro Happold’s former sites – a strategy that is both environmentally efficient and cost effective. From the raw beauty of smoked cork and timber terrazzo to the flexibility of adaptable workspaces, the office is a dynamic environment where materials, sustainability, and wellbeing intersect.
