🎥 New Video: Classic Motor Show 2024 🎥 We had an incredible time exhibiting at this year’s NEC Classic Motor Show in Birmingham! Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the UK’s largest and best-loved classic motor show truly lived up to expectations, with an amazing turnout and electric atmosphere. This year, we showcased the legendary Le Mans Triumph TR7 V8 and a beautifully restored Triumph Stag completed by the talented team at EJ Ward. Visitors were also treated to an impressive live seat retrimming demonstration by our friends at Newton Commercial, which was a real crowd-pleaser! The show felt busier than ever this year, and it was fantastic to see so many enthusiasts, restorers, and classic car lovers coming together to celebrate all things motoring. Could this be a sign of exciting times ahead for the classic car community? We certainly think so! The Grand Tour, beloved by petrolheads and adventure enthusiasts, has been a cornerstone of car culture since its 2016 debut. Hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond, the show has offered a mix of automotive adventures, banter, and stunning locations. The final episode, One for the Road, aired on September 13, 2024, and saw the trio embark on a last road trip across Zimbabwe, ending in Botswana, a nostalgic nod to their earlier African special. Clarkson drove a 1982 Lancia Beta Montecarlo Spyder, Hammond a 1974 Ford Capri, and May a 1974 Triumph Stag. Their backup car for the episode? A 1985 Rover SD1, a departure from their usual undesirable choices. James May’s Triumph Stag became the star of the episode. Despite its history of overheating, this £26,500 3.0L V8 Stag performed flawlessly in Botswana’s intense heat, never breaking down. May's cheeky retort, “Overheating, my arse,” when teased by Clarkson and Hammond, encapsulated the light-hearted rivalry that defined the show. The SD1 also shone as a nostalgic favourite. Known for its sleek design and V8 option, the SD1 was a bold choice for a backup car and held a special place in the trio's hearts. One for the Road was a fitting farewell, celebrating classic cars like the Triumph Stag and the enduring friendship of the hosts, closing the show with humour, adventure, and iconic vehicles.
