“What [the Big Give] does so powerfully is it brings out what can be a sleepy market at times because someone’s put up the money and matching it feels kind of stronger. My plea for listeners is to go and look for where that money can make the most impact” – The Centre for Social Justice’s CEO, Andy Cook, speaking to our Chairman and CEO James Reed CBE on the latest episode of ‘all about business’. The Centre for Social Justice is an award-winning organisation that aims to solve Britain’s most pressing social issues through political change. Reed Talent Solutions’ new webinar, ‘Maintaining and boosting equity, diversity and inclusion in times of financial constraint’, will see our guests, Head of D&I Business Partnering at the BBC, Annisha Taylor; Workplace Inclusion Architect, Toby Mildon; and Reed Talent Solutions’ DE&I Consultant, Iain MacLeod, discuss what organisations can do to make sure inclusion and diversity remains a priority. 📅 Our event takes place between 11.45am and 12.45pm on Wednesday 29 January. The government is urging everyone currently relying on physical documents to prove immigration status to ensure that they switch to the online eVisa by the end of the year. The previous government initiated the digital transition along with the new electronic travel authorisation for UK visitors, insisting that these changes would make showing immigration status smoother and more secure. Yet mounting concerns for those caught out by the eVisa’s hard deadline of 31 December are only now being addressed. “If you want a purpose to really be valuable for a business, it’s got to be owned by everybody, and if it’s going to be owned then the best way to do that is to involve people in the creation of it,” Becky Willan, CEO and Founder of Given, part of Anthesis Group, joins our Chairman and CEO James Reed CBE in the latest episode of his podcast ‘all about business’. In episode six, James and Becky discuss all things ESG and sustainability and the importance of implementing purpose into the heart of your business. Congratulations to the Big Give, its Managing Director Alex Day and his team of only 10 people, for becoming the biggest UK charity campaign - with a record-breaking £44.7 million raised in its #ChristmasChallenge this year! 👏🎉 #Charity #Fundraising #DoubleTheDifference #ImprovingLivesThroughWork
I am amazed by this year’s Big Give #ChristmasChallenge result… A huge thank you to everyone who gave so generously to the 1,267 charities participating. This year’s total of £44.7 million is £11 million more than last year’s previous record, an increase of 35% and an incredible achievement by Alex Day and his colleagues. Amazing what a team of just 10 people can achieve in a week! How did they do it? By digitising giving, making it possible to make a donation in just 15 seconds. By democratising giving, there were 1,267 charities for donors to choose from. By doubling the difference. Every donation was doubled! But most important of all, it happened because of our super generous donors and supporters. Thank you for making this happen, thank for spreading the word, thank you for giving your time and your money. Big Give is now the biggest charity campaign in the country! #charity #philanthropy #fundraising #Christmas #biggive #lovemondays #lifeatreed #PhilCo #since1960 #improvinglivesthroughwork

This year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, which ended at midday on Tuesday, has raised a record-breaking £44.7 million in one week: a 35% increase from last year’s total of £33 million. The campaign attracted over 119,000 donations from the public, with 74% of participating charities meeting or exceeding their fundraising targets, and 95% of all available match funds utilised. This year, Big Give also secured a record-breaking £20 million in match funds for the campaign, from Champions including the Reed Foundation, the Julia Rausing Trust, The Childhood Trust, The Hospital Saturday Fund, ShareGift, Steve Morgan Foundation, Candis Magazine, Hampshire Cricket Foundation, Aesseal, and The Coles-Medlock Foundation. Tonight, we're taking part in celebrating these achievements, which will have profound impacts on the charities involved and their wonderful causes. At Reed, we believe business and philanthropy go hand in hand. We're proud to be part of the Reed Group, which is 18% owned by the Reed Foundation, effectively meaning we work one day per week for charity. #Charity #MatchFunding #PhilCo #ChristmasChallenge #DoubleTheDifference James Reed CBE Alex Day Bethany Duxbury-Campbell Alexandra Chapman

Thank you to everyone who donated to charity in the past week via Big Give as part of its 2024 #ChristmasChallenge. 🎅 This year, Reed championed Prevent Breast Cancer as part of the campaign and helped them reach their fundraising goal - and surpass it - with 355 donations. Together, we helped raise £148,748 in total! 💸 We can't wait to see the impact these donations will have. The charity's goal is to build the National Breast Imaging Academy to train the next generation of breast imaging staff, reduce wait times, advance research into breast cancer prevention, and save the health economy £50 million over 10 years, creating more jobs and ultimately saving lives. ✨ #Charity #Fundraising #PreventBreastCancer #DoubleTheDifference #ChristmasChallenge24
