Award-winning giving platform that helps businesses donate volunteer time, money and surplus to local good causes.
About us
Neighbourly is an award-winning giving platform that helps businesses make a positive impact in their communities by donating volunteer time, money and surplus products, all in one place. We were founded in 2014 with the aim of helping businesses deliver meaningful and sustainable community investment, into thousands of locations across the UK and Ireland. We believe that by putting local impact at the heart of responsible business we can create a system that works for everyone. We’ve grown into an award-winning, market leading CSR platform that serves some of the world's biggest companies and supports thousands of local good causes working to improve lives and habitats in our neighbourhoods. In 2015 we became one of the UK’s very first B Corporations, meaning we’re a for-profit company certified by the non-profit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social responsibility and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. Being a B Corp underpins our core values and belief that business can be a force for good. Together with our fellow B Corps around the world we are redefining how sustainable communities are built and what success in business means. In 2020 we were accredited by the Good Business Charter, launched the Neighbourly Foundation to provide continued financial support to local community causes. The Neighbourly Foundation is now a Marks & Spencer Sparks Charity. On the 11th day of #GoGive, we’re celebrating the impact of grant funding on our local communities 💸🧑🤝🧑 Last week some of the causes in the Neighbourly network got an early Christmas present when they received funding from the Pret Foundation’s Community Grant programme, with the total financial donations from all partners during our GoGive campaign now reaching over £300,000. The Pret Foundation is passionate about supporting people to access the resources and opportunities that they need to break the cycle of homelessness and lead healthy lives. 💙 AR Projects CIC told us they’d be using the grant to run their Pathway to Employment programme, supporting individuals with training materials, job placement support and alumni events. 💙 The SPACE will be using their funding to help train people in their area facing homelessness, including a weekly hub to increase individuals’ employability and equip them with the skills and experience to apply for jobs. #GoGive #GoGiveCommunity #LocalSupport

❄️ GoGive Fund a Freezer with Aldi ❄️ Aldi has recently donated freezers to Celestial CCC Everlasting Glory, Food Share Wyre Forest and Community Café and SHARE Wokingham, and chillers to a number of good causes partnered with Neighbourly. To continue their impact, Aldi is taking part in our GoDonate fund by donating £25,000 to charities that need additional fridges or freezers for food storage.👏 64% of the food redistribution charities and causes Neighbourly supports though food redistribution have stated that they would benefit from additional fridges or freezers. Luke Emery, National Sustainability Director at Aldi UK said: “At Aldi, our aim is for fresh, healthy food to be accessible to everyone, so joining the Neighbourly GoGive campaign is a great opportunity to further this goal. By working together, we can enhance the accessibility of nutritious foods for those that rely on foodbanks, using the power of local connections to make a real difference.”💙 Find out more about how you can get involved in GoGive, which runs until the end of February, here > https://lnkd.in/eani46JA

📰 "Why the government must prioritise tax relief for retailers’ charitable donations" Read an article written by our COO Zoë Colosimo for The Grocer on why the current tax requirements for retailers on charitable product donations is causing a huge barrier to giving. VAT on donations for direct use disincentivises retailers to donate unsold goods - at a time when demand for donations has surged and 78% of Neighbourly charities are reporting increased need, particularly for non-food items like toiletries, clothing and hygiene products. Tax relief on product donations for direct use has clear benefits for businesses, the government and the environment. Read more in the article in the comments 👇 "We invite retailers who want to be part of this change to get in touch – and help us bring about this reform for the benefit of all."
