❄️ GoGive Fund a Freezer with Aldi ❄️ Aldi has recently donated freezers to Celestial CCC Everlasting Glory, Food Share Wyre Forest and Community Café and SHARE Wokingham, and chillers to a number of good causes partnered with Neighbourly. To continue their impact, Aldi is taking part in our GoDonate fund by donating £25,000 to charities that need additional fridges or freezers for food storage.👏 64% of the food redistribution charities and causes Neighbourly supports though food redistribution have stated that they would benefit from additional fridges or freezers. Luke Emery, National Sustainability Director at Aldi UK said: “At Aldi, our aim is for fresh, healthy food to be accessible to everyone, so joining the Neighbourly GoGive campaign is a great opportunity to further this goal. By working together, we can enhance the accessibility of nutritious foods for those that rely on foodbanks, using the power of local connections to make a real difference.”💙 Find out more about how you can get involved in GoGive, which runs until the end of February, here > https://lnkd.in/eani46JA

Four Million Meals Donated Through Partnership with FareShare Since partnering with FareShare in 2017, as a group we have surpassed the milestone of supplying the equivalent of Four Million Meals over the duration of our partnership. Our partnership with FareShare helps support its network of over 8,000 charities, reaching over a million people in need across the UK. FareShare strengthens communities by taking good food, that would otherwise go to waste and getting it to local charities who use it to support people in their communities. Our cross business ESG champions have worked with local business units to enable supply chain solutions to facilitate surpluses to be supplied through to FareShare, with fresh produce ranging from lettuce, celery, radish, beetroot, mushrooms, beans and spring onions being supplied through the partnership. #FareShare #ESG #FoodRedistribution

From today until Christmas Eve, Coles team members will be helping to spread festive cheer by raising funds for SecondBite to help feed Aussies in need. Funds raised for the Coles SecondBite Christmas Appeal will enable SecondBite to rescue quality, nutritious food and redistribute it to over 1000 local charities, community groups and food banks nationwide. In addition to raising funds, team members will also help pack food hampers and prepare meals for SecondBite and their charity partners in the lead up to Christmas. SecondBite CEO Daniel Moorfield said “The funds raised will help us provide ongoing food relief to those who need it most and address the increased need that our charity partners face over the holidays.” Coles Chief Commercial and Sustainability Officer Anna Croft said “Together with our customers and suppliers Cadbury, Remedy Drinks, DASH Water and Local Brewing Co., we are aiming to raise enough funds this Christmas to help provide the equivalent of over five million meals to help feed Australians in need.” Customers can support the Christmas Appeal by purchasing a $2 donation card at a Coles supermarket, with each $2 card sold enabling SecondBite to provide the equivalent of up to ten meals. Donations will also be accepted at any Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars. 'Shop, save and sustain' sustainability initiative raises money for local charities ⬇️ The innovative sustainability initiative 'Shop, save and sustain', organised by the University’s Catering and Hospitality team, has raised over £6,400 for local charities, including the York Food Bank, Kitchen for Everyone, and The Island, York. Shop, save and sustain is a food waste reduction scheme, launched in September 2021. Surplus food items that would normally be discarded at the end of the day are instead discounted. For every purchase made through this initiative, £1 is donated to food-based charities within York, making a significant impact on the lives of those in need. Each day, in the final 15 minutes before our cafés and restaurants close, unsold food is discounted by at least 50%. The food, including packaged sandwiches, desserts, drinks and hot food items, is still safe for consumption but would otherwise go to waste at the end of the day. Why Aren't There Any Whole Foods or Trader Joe's in Roxbury, Mattapan, or Dorchester? Ever wonder why we don't see Whole Foods or Trader Joe's in our neighborhoods like Roxbury, Mattapan, or Dorchester? It's no coincidence. This absence opens the door for profiteers to gain ground in our communities, claiming they provide "good food with good nutrients." But let's take a closer look at what's really happening. These so-called "helpers" source their products from donations—like Amazon's contributions to Fair Foods and other donors like Market Basket. They repackage these unwanted fruits, meats, and vegetables, then sell them to us in our urban areas. They even have the nerve to charge us for accessing food that was donated for free! It's not about helping the poor and low-income—it’s about making a profit off of us. They're charging us for food that was meant to be given, not sold. This isn’t charity; it’s exploitation. We deserve better than leftovers and hand-me-downs at a cost. It's time to question why these big chains avoid our communities while others swoop in to profit from our need. #FoodJustice #UrbanExploitation #BlackCommunitiesMatter #StopProfiteering #SupportLocal #EconomicInjustice #Justice #SocialJustice #HumanRights #SpeakUp #TogetherForJustice #EqualOpportunity #HumanRightsForAll #Div #FoodForFree #Freeman #GBFB #BLM #Antiracism #StopRacism #DavidDobrik #JusticeForBernadette #SupportOurLeaders #GBFBExposed #FoodForFreeRacism #MMSFIOppression #AccountabilityForGBFB #FoodForFreeInjustice #ExposeMMSFI #GBFBDiscrimination #HoldFoodForFreeAccountable #RacismAtMMSFI #EndNonprofitRacism #RacialInjustice #BlackNonprofitExclusion #FightForEquality #StopSystemicRacism #NonprofitDiscrimination #SupportBlackNonprofits #EndRacialOppression #JusticeForBlackLeaders #RacialEquityNow #management #BECMAExposed #AccountabilityForBECMA #BECMAProfitOverPeople #WhereIsBECMA #BECMABetrayal #BECMAFail #HoldBECMAAccountable #BECMAAndBlackStruggles #JusticeOverBECMAProfit #mentor #lifecoach #innovation #management #digitalmarketing #technology #entrepreneurship #CerealLovers #SnackTime #MarsIncorporated #SweetAndSavory #digitalmarketing #technology #entrepreneurship #careers #leadership #FarmToTable #SustainableLiving #UnileverBrands #BetterPlanet #FutureFoods #CocaCola #DrinkResponsibly #GlobalFoodLeader #SnackAndBeverage #PepsiCoBrands #PepsiLove #HealthyBoston #FoodJustice #BostonCommunity #CommunityService #Philanthropy #SocialImpact #FeedBoston #BostonFoodPantry #FoodRescue #EndHungerBoston #BostonNonprofit #FeedingFamiliesBoston #BostonFoodDrive #UrbanFarmingBoston #BostonGivesBack #CommunityFridgeBoston #SustainableBoston #bezos #netfilx #movies #MacKenzieScott #rockafella #Amazon #Wholefoods #DailyTable #TremontCrossing #NewBostonFund #NoWasteBoston #BostonVolunteers #BostonFoodSecurity #boston #bostonevents #Displacement #Payless #Stealmore #Salary #entrepreneurship #humanresources #digitalmarketing #creativity #future

On #WorldEnvironmentDay we’re highlighting The Oxford Food Hub – an Oxfordshire based food surplus charity that works alongside wholesalers, farmers and growers supporting food banks, warm spaces, homeless shelter, mental health support charities and children’s hospices. Recently celebrating its fifteenth anniversary, the charity is seeking to partner with more farmers and growers in the area as demand continues to soar during the cost of living crisis. The Waste And Resources Action Programme’s 2022 annual survey found that total redistributed food has increased by around 27% compared to 2021, which equates to 70 million more meals redistributed in that year. In fact Oxfordshire NFU Member and third-generation growers Rectory Farm are long-serving suppliers of the Hub. If you have surplus that you wish to donate, then you can reach Oxford Food Hub via email at admin@oxfordfoodhub.org
