🤝 Strengthening Ties: Insights from the UK-Malaysia Semiconductor Visit Recently, MSIA had the incredible opportunity to join a Malaysian delegation on a visit to the UK’s semiconductor clusters, and we want to share some insights from this eye-opening experience. We toured impressive organizations like PragmatIC Semiconductor and Clas-SiC Wafer Fab Ltd, as well as renowned tech hubs such as the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, CPI, and Netpark. It was inspiring to witness firsthand the innovations and capabilities that the UK has to offer. The strong focus on collaboration between industry, academia, and research institutes underscored the potential for both Malaysia and the UK to advance in the semiconductor sector. One of the key takeaways from this trip was the importance of creating a robust support system for startups. The facilities and resources available in the UK can serve as a model for enhancing Malaysia’s semiconductor landscape. Additionally, fostering stronger educational exchange programs will ensure we are developing a skilled workforce ready to tackle the challenges of the future. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Adelene Teo and her team at the British High Commission for organising such a wonderful trip. Your hard work and dedication made this experience possible and opened new pathways for collaboration between our two countries. It truly feels like we are on the verge of strengthening ties and creating opportunities that will benefit both Malaysia and the UK. As we continue our journey in the semiconductor industry, we are excited about the potential for innovation and growth that lies ahead. Let’s work together to build a brighter future for both nations!
