Why is ethical collaboration so important to the future of South Africa's health system? IPASA is thrilled to join alongside more than 25 leading entities to answer this and related questions. In so doing, these diverse stakeholders that span patient organizations, healthcare professional societies, industry bodies, and many others will explore the future potential of a South African Consensus Framework. Such a Framework would serve as a standing platform for ethical collaboration across the health ecosystem and enable South Africa to join alongside 14 countries who have already adopted this approach. Stay tuned for more details and thank you to IFPMA for joining us in this important journey and lending your leadership. #EthicsInHealthcare #BusinessIntegrity #IPASA #SAHPRA #LeadingWithIntegrity

🚨 Tackling Counterfeit Medicines: A Growing Patient Safety Concern in South Africa This World Diabetes Day, we’re highlighting the urgent need for safe and equitable access to diabetes care. At IPASA, we are dedicated to breaking barriers to promote access to innovative medicines for all. However, the growing threat of counterfeit medicines, particularly Glucagon-like Peptide (GLP-1) products, jeopardise patient safety and undermines progress in diabetes care. These counterfeit GLP-1 products, often sold online without SAHPRA’s approval, are untested and frequently misused for cosmetic purposes. The risks are significant, affecting both diabetes patients and those unknowingly using unsafe products. 💡 Tune into Channel Africa as our CEO Bada Pharasi will address this critical issue on how we’re working to combat counterfeit medicines and promote responsible access to quality diabetes treatments.
