We officially launched Kompas for our first client 2 days ago and the launch went super smoothly…NOT!
For the last several months I have promised to share my REAL and GENUINE experience of building, launching and scaling Kompas with all of you on LinkedIn.
Today is no different.
After a year of development, planning, orchestrating and implementing – we were finally ready to go live with the platform with our first enterprise customer on January 1st.
As the clock was winding down on 2024, I was super excited for the platform to start working its magic.
📧 Thousands of rent invoices and rent charges created automatically
💳 Millions of dollars of payments being initiated, disbursed and reconciled automatically
📄 Hundreds of reports being generated, saved and shared automatically
I couldn’t wait to see the initial reaction of our client’s team when they strolled into the office on January 2nd and their entire 1st of the month process was done for them without lifting a finger.
But instead, our first day went more like this:
😖 User invitations that were lost in junk mail
⁉️ Transition cut-off scenarios that needed further explanations
🐞 So many bugs that our engineering team changed their job titles to senior exterminators.
🎢 Throughout the day I was on an emotional rollercoaster that started at excitement moved on to anxiety, then frustration, disappointment, acceptance and finally ended with rejuvenation.
Why rejuvenation?
Because I realized that we are now LIVE IN THE GAME.
We have REAL USERS on the platform executing REAL TASKS and most importantly identifying unbiased areas for REAL IMPROVEMENT.
🚀 The tank is full, seatbelts are buckled and the rocket has officially left the station.
