Ego isn’t just a challenge on the golf course—it’s something we face every day on the frontline. It’s the voice that tells us to push harder when we need rest, to prove ourselves at the cost of our well-being, or to focus on how others perceive us instead of doing what’s right. Seneca reminds us: ‘It is the power of the mind to be unconquerable.’ In both golf and life on the frontline, letting go of ego allows us to stay present, make better decisions, and grow stronger. Whether it’s in the heat of a call or the calm of a golf swing, humility and focus pave the way for true progress. Let go of pride, embrace the process, and watch your performance—on and off the course—reach new heights. #GolfForMentalHealth #EgoInCheck #breachthestigma #LifeOnTheFrontline #StoicPhilosophy #MindfulGolf #MentalGameMatters #FrontlineToFairways #StoicismInAction Sue Harvey

About us
We work with our military and first responders in order to help in the battle against Operational Stress Injuries. Our unique and innovative program was created by first responders/military, for first responders and military to bridge the gap between being injured and seeking help. Using recreational therapy and sport to teach and enhance mindfulness and resiliency techniques to those who experience trauma at an exponentially higher rate than the average citizen. In the words of our participants, "recreation is RE-CREATION," and "these clinics should be taken by anyone that is in a front-line, high-stress role."

🌟 Driving Foreward Junior Warrior Program: A Life-Changing Experience 🌟 We are thrilled to announce an unforgettable opportunity for a group of our junior golfers as part of the Driving Foreward Junior Warrior Program! This year, a group of our young athletes will embark on an extraordinary journey across Canada to Mississauga, ON, where they will volunteer inside the ropes at the CPKC Women’s Open, one of the most prestigious tournaments on the LPGA Tour. More Than Just Golf This isn’t just about getting up close to world-class golfers. For these youth, who come from a northern, isolated region of Alberta, this experience represents a leap into a world of growth, connection, and opportunity: • Professional Growth: Volunteering at an international event provides a rare chance to learn teamwork, responsibility, and professionalism in a high-stakes environment. • Inspiration: Witnessing the dedication and skill of LPGA athletes firsthand will fuel their own aspirations, both on and off the course. • Life Experiences: Living in a small, northern and isolated community limited exposure to major events and experiences. Traveling to a major city and engaging in such an event opens their minds to a broader world of possibilities. • VIP Access: A special VIP experience designed just for them will create memories they’ll carry for a lifetime. Why This Matters Opportunities like this can transform the lives of youth who rarely get a chance to see beyond their hometown. They return with newfound confidence, inspired to dream big and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Call to Action This experience wouldn’t be possible without the support of generous sponsors. By joining our cause, you’re not just funding a trip; you’re changing lives. You’re opening doors to inspiration, personal growth, and possibilities these youth may have never imagined. Let’s make a difference together. Contact us today to become a sponsor and be part of this incredible journey. Thank you to our Junior Warrior Program sponsor, West Fraser. #juniorgolf #changemakers #supportyouth #supportyouthsports #golflife #InspireYoungMinds #lpga #cpkcwomensopen #golfinspiration

🌟 Happy Holidays from Driving Foreward 🌟 As 2024 draws to a close, we at Driving Foreward reflect on a year of growth, gratitude, and profound impact. This year, through our Warrior Resiliency Program as well as Human Performance Workshops, we’ve been privileged to train nearly 200 first responders across Alberta, empowering them with tools to protect their mental health and build resilience. Our speaking engagements and events have reached audiences in the thousands, spreading awareness and creating conversations about the critical importance of first responder wellness across Canada. At the heart of our work is a mission: to support those who tirelessly support us. Through innovative approaches that combine mental health and sport, we’ve seen how the game of golf can become a powerful tool for healing and growth. Our Junior Warrior Program has extended this vision to our youth, fostering mental wellness and life skills for the next generation. As a volunteer-run nonprofit, we are humbled by the community that makes our work possible. West Fraser, TC Energy and so many more—your unwavering support has been instrumental in helping us drive change. Together, we’ve built programs that not only support our frontline but also inspire a movement toward holistic well-being in the communities we serve. Looking to 2025, we are excited to expand our programs and reach even more first responders and military personnel, helping them safeguard their mental health while creating a brighter, more resilient future for their families and themselves. To everyone who has supported us, volunteered, participated, or simply shared our message this year: Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we are making a difference. 💙 Here’s to a season of reflection, connection, and care for all those on the frontline. We are with you, always. Warm wishes, The Driving Foreward Team #BREACHTHESTIGMA #frontlinewellness #mentalhealthmatters #militaryfamily #firstresponderfamily

The Alberta First Responder Association is a community made up of individuals that by the very nature of their work put the safety and/or wellness of the general public above their own. Today we were honoured to stand together as a community to pay respect for Harshandeep Singh. As we honour our fallen, we pledge to remember them as we continue to serve. It has been 20 years since I was discharged from the Army and this is the first time I have been able to wear my medals. As a US Army veteran serving in the RCMP, policy prevented me from wearing them, or my wings, which were proudly earned. They were freed from the shadow box display for today’s ceremony. Probably screwed something up but I represented and that’s all that matters…like I said, it’s been 20 years! 😊 #veteransday🇺🇸 #remembranceday #veteran #servicedog Courageous Companions Driving Foreward
