Ego isn’t just a challenge on the golf course—it’s something we face every day on the frontline. It’s the voice that tells us to push harder when we need rest, to prove ourselves at the cost of our well-being, or to focus on how others perceive us instead of doing what’s right. Seneca reminds us: ‘It is the power of the mind to be unconquerable.’ In both golf and life on the frontline, letting go of ego allows us to stay present, make better decisions, and grow stronger. Whether it’s in the heat of a call or the calm of a golf swing, humility and focus pave the way for true progress. Let go of pride, embrace the process, and watch your performance—on and off the course—reach new heights. #GolfForMentalHealth #EgoInCheck #breachthestigma #LifeOnTheFrontline #StoicPhilosophy #MindfulGolf #MentalGameMatters #FrontlineToFairways #StoicismInAction Sue Harvey

Mastering the Post-Shot Routine: Lessons from Scottie Scheffler Scottie Scheffler’s incredible 2024 season was stunning, solidifying him as one of the world’s most composed golfers. Beyond his skill, what truly sets him apart is his mental discipline—especially his post-shot routine. Here’s what golfers of any level can learn: Observe, Don’t Judge: After each shot, stay neutral. Watch objectively, noting the ball’s flight and outcome without labeling it “good” or “bad.” Analyze the Result: Instead of reacting emotionally, reflect on what went well or what could improve. This dispassionate approach helps build focus and consistency. Prepare for the Next Shot: Once you’ve observed and learned, let go of the past shot. Reset your mind and apply those insights to the next move. Scheffler’s approach is a masterclass in emotional control. By adopting a similar post-shot routine, you can stay grounded and focused—ensuring consistent improvement, even in high-pressure moments. Start today and experience the power of a simple mental shift in elevating your game. #GolfTips #MindsetMatters #LeadershipLessons #PerformanceMindset #SuccessMindset #EmotionalIntelligence #ProfessionalGrowth #PeakPerformance #ScottieScheffler #Masters2024 #GolfCommunity #MentalToughness #SportsLeadership #PersonalDevelopment #FocusAndDiscipline

The way your body feels can be a very dependable guide. Except when it is not. When you are hungry you know that your body desires food. When you are tired you know that your body desires rest. This is good because without these sensations, some of us will do without the needed food or rest. In fact, even with them, some of us still go without food or rest. But they are there nonetheless. If we want to make progress, we can't depend on how our body feels to dictate our actions. Our body should give us feedback but should not be our guiding light. We are like long distance runners. At the start of a race we have our goal and our plans to achieve those goals. However, when the race begins, we soon realize that maybe our body isn't responding the way we want it to. Our plans get derailed one too many times and we may begin to wonder if the goal is still achievable. People respond in different ways. Some give up. While others persist. For those who continue to run the race, an interesting phenomenon occurs. 'The second wind.' Runners get to a point during the course of an arduous race where they suddenly feel light and invigorated again. This second wind lets them push to attain a goal they felt they could not attain only moments ago. The second wind may be all you need to achieve victory. You may be at a point where you want to give up. Don't. Be like the long distance runner and commit to moving forward despite what you are feeling. Have a goal, commit to it and move forward despite how you feel. Your second wind might be just around the corner. #commitment #achievegoals #goals

Life Lessons from a Golf Course Learning can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time. Golf is a fascinating game. While you might compete with others, you’re primarily competing against yourself and the course. During a round, your caddy walks alongside you, carrying your bag for all 18 holes—a journey of 6-7 km. One day, during a round, after completing the front nine hoes, a co-player offered me his caddy for the back nine holes, as he was leaving early. His caddy was a young, energetic boy with well-maintained shoes, unlike mine, who was older, wearing worn-out chappals, and slower to catch up. Despite this, something inside me told me otherwise and I decided to continue with my own caddy. As we approached the 10th hole, I faced a daunting water hazard cutting through most of the fairway. I asked my caddy how far I needed to hit to clear the water. He looked ahead, looked at me and said which water? I repeated my question this time pointing my club to the water, he again followed my club direction, looked back at me and asked “which water” I turned to look at him and he said सर मेरे को तो फेयरवे दिख रहा है इतना सुंदर सा, आप को पानी दिख रहा है, आराम से फेरवे को देखिए और शॉट मारिये translated… Sir I can only see the fairway and such a lovely fairway while you are seeing the water hazard, just focus on the fairway and take your shot. In that moment, his simple perspective became a profound Life Lesson: Why focus on the hazards and obstacles when there’s a clear path, a clear fairway forward? Since that day, my approach to both golf and life has changed. I no longer obsess over the “hazards” but instead focus on the “fairways.” The results have been remarkable—not just in much fewer shots landing in water but also in how I navigate challenges in life and work. I’ve lost touch with that caddy, but his wisdom stays with me, reminding me daily to focus on solutions, not problems. The fairways ahead are beautiful—let’s keep looking at them. #LifeLessons #Perspective #Growth #Gratitude #Leadership

Finish with a Flourish It's almost the end of 2024 - Would you believe it!!! For some people it has been an AMAZING year while it's been a mixed bag of ups and downs for several others. If you fall in the latter category then you're like me and need to read this. I don't know about you but for most people, it's usually tough to pick things up and try again after hopes are dashed or expectations are unmet. As the 2024 calendar races towards the finish line, here's how you can finish strong and let your weights/troubles be as light as AIR. 📌A - Ascertain your Anchor - You need a formidable foundation to build a solid structure. What are you resting your hopes on? Do you have a big bold belief? Write down the promise/conviction you have that assures you of a desirable outcome. 📌I - Incline towards Insight - This is a case of 'How you see' vs. 'What you see'. How you see things determines whether you remain rooted to a spot or if you setout regardless of what obstacles are in your way. Look inwards and find the right insight. 📌R - Reset your Resolve - My favorite quote to buttress is "The willow knows what the storm does not; that the power to endure harm outlives the power to inflict it". Layer this with the words of Wise King Solomon: "For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off." Stay resolute and KEEP taking ACTION Now that you are ready, my daily challenge to you, is to believe and take the following words seriously. "LIVE LIFE AS IF EVERYTHING IS RIGGED IN YOUR FAVOUR" - Rumi #mindshifttolifeshift #mondaymotivation #success #finishstrong
