We're focused on meeting society’s evolving needs for energy, essential products, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

About us

ExxonMobil is one of the largest integrated fuels, lubricants and chemical companies in the world. We believe we can produce the products societies need and lead in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, both our own and others. We are focused on: • Strengthening energy security by expanding low-cost-of-supply, high-return oil and natural gas operations. • Integrating our downstream and chemicals operations to develop lower emission fuels and innovative products needed by modern society. • Helping lower emissions by providing solutions to our industrial and commercial customers in growing markets for carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and biofuels. We are determined to tackle head-on the challenge of strengthening energy supply security and reducing emissions to support a net-zero future while growing value for our shareholders and stakeholders. ExxonMobil Corporation is the parent company of the Esso, Mobil and ExxonMobil affiliate companies that operate in the United Kingdom.

  • Put our assets to work!   Leveraging the strategic location, connectivity and infrastructure of petrochemical facilities such as ExxonMobil Fawley could attract associated manufacturing and sustainable industries.   To realise the ambitions set out in its Industrial Strategy, the UK Government needs to connect industry and investors, maximise the potential of Solent Freeport, incentivise local government and focus regional development bodies.   As the energy sector transitions, assets that have served the UK for decades can evolve into the foundations for the industrial growth of the future.   Industrial Strategy: https://lnkd.in/ex8ZmH7E   The Solent Cluster Hampshire County Council New Forest District Council #MadeinBritain #IndustrialStrategy

  • As the Government’s SAF mandate is enacted, it underlines how clear, long term policy could unlock the private sector investment necessary in lower emissions technology. Fuel producers, suppliers and airlines alike now have greater confidence to plan and invest for the future. Today, Chair of Esso in the UK, Paul Greenwood, joined the Jet Zero Taskforce, bringing to the table our half century of experience producing and distributing aviation fuel at scale from our ExxonMobil Fawley facility – including a quarter of Heathrow’s needs. We pressed the need for improved cross-departmental alignment in Government as well as clarity on policy to support CCS and hydrogen, which will be critical to delivering increased SAF production capacity in the UK. #SAF #JetZero

  • ‘’Promote and support British fuels’’ was the message from Nick B., Manager of ExxonMobil Fawley refinery, when meeting today with officials from the newly created Future of Fuels team at Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (ESNZ). With the UK having lost 70% of its refineries, policy and regulation needs to step up to bolster the competitiveness of the UK’s remaining sites so we can continue to ensure the country’s energy security. A level playing field, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, policy and fiscal mechanisms to unlock investment, as well as constructive skills and employment policies are all needed if British refineries are to compete successfully in a global market. #MadeinBritain #CBAM #refining

  • Meeting the growing demand for ethylene while reducing emissions was the focus of our discussion when we recently welcomed Dr. Alasdair Allan, The Scottish Government Minister for Climate Action, to our ExxonMobil Fife Ethylene Plant. Speaking with ExxonMobil Fife's Plant Manager, Toby Hamblin, they explored the policy and regulatory environment needed to enable investment in decarbonisation technology that will help to protect and grow the skilled jobs, and economic contribution, that FEP has made in Fife for almost 40 years. We are encouraged to hear that the Scottish Government is pressing the case with counterparts in Westminster for the advancement of The Acorn Project and associated Hydrogen projects, and we remain committed to playing our part. We believe FEP can have a long term future in Scotland with lower emissions technology at the heart of a just transition for the site. #CCS #ethylene

  • The world will be different in 2050, but the need to provide the reliable, affordable energy that drives economic prosperity and better living standards, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, will remain just as critical as it is today. Highlighted in our 2024 ExxonMobil Global Outlook https://lnkd.in/eabVuNy7 🌍 All energy types will remain in the mix 🌍 Under any credible scenario, oil and natural gas will remain essential 🌍 Oil will still provide the building blocks to manufacture vital chemicals 🌍 To grow rapidly, lower-carbon technology needs effective policies supported, ultimately, by market-based mechanisms 🌍 Renewables will grow the fastest in future years In the UK, we are investing to meet society’s needs with technology to increase Low Sulphur Diesel production today, while laying the ground to pivot to lower carbon fuels in the future 👉 https://lnkd.in/eDN-Uv_w #energysecurity #energy

  • Carbon Capture and Storage is a ‘necessity not an option’ – UK Climate Change Committee Today we are launching a public consultation on potential routes for a CO2 transportation pipeline from our ExxonMobil Fawley complex to a storage location in the English Channel. With a capacity to transport millions of tons of CO2 annually – the equivalent to removing over five million cars from the road - this project could play a key role in lowering emissions across the economically-important South, and support the production of sustainable fuels for hard to decarbonise sectors. The consultation runs until 12 September, and we encourage everyone to share their views on the pipeline corridor options.
