Reflecting on National Inclusion Week As we wrap up National Inclusion Week, let's take a moment to consider what inclusion truly means and how we can foster it in our daily lives. Inclusion is about creating environments where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and valued for who they are. It's about embracing our differences and recognising the unique perspectives each person brings to the table. Making our daily lives more inclusive: At Work: ✅ Listen actively to colleagues from diverse backgrounds ✅ Challenge unconscious biases in decision-making ✅ Ensure meetings and events are accessible to all At Home: ✅ Teach children about diversity and respect ✅ Create a welcoming space for friends and family of all backgrounds ✅ Consume media that represents diverse voices and experiences In the Community: ✅ Support local businesses owned by underrepresented groups ✅ Volunteer for organisations promoting inclusivity ✅ Advocate for accessible public spaces and services This week reminds us that inclusion is not a one-time effort, but an ongoing journey. By making small changes in our daily interactions, we can create a more inclusive world for everyone. How will you carry the spirit of inclusion forward? Share your thoughts and commitments below! National Inclusion Week is a time to celebrate diversity and promote a culture of inclusion in every aspect of our lives. This year’s theme, ‘Impact Matters,’ is a powerful call to action for everyone—from leaders and inclusion professionals to teams and individuals. It emphasises the importance of understanding, identifying, and measuring our impact on marginalised groups and taking meaningful actions that lead to genuine, sustainable change. At Venesky Brown, we aim to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves. We believe that our differences make us stronger, driving innovation and success across the board. As we observe National Inclusion Week, let’s take time to reflect on how we can continue building inclusive spaces. Through education, open dialogue, and supporting equality-focused initiatives, every action makes a difference. #NationalInclusionWeek #InclusionMatters #DiversityAndInclusion #Belonging

Celebrating National Inclusion Week: Why Intersectionality Matters We are all shaped by our identities—whether it is race, gender, class, disability, sexual orientation, or even the social roles we play every day. Each one of us stands at the intersection of these identities, which means the challenges we face are as complex as we are. National Inclusion Week, this year takes place from 23rd to 29th September, with thanks to Inclusive Employers https://lnkd.in/ga6VZZRm we are encouraged to reflect on why a commitment to understanding and embracing intersectionality—a place where we can find common ground and collective strength—benefits us all. National Inclusion Week is a reminder that inclusion does not look the same for everyone. For the Civil Service Race Forum, being inclusive means understanding how our overlapping identities IMPACT not just how we experience the world, but how we achieve true inclusiveness, which is more than any single factor like race or gender—it is about seeing the whole person. This year’s theme is ‘IMPACT Matters’, a call-to-action for everyone in your organisation, from leaders, to inclusion professionals through to teams and individuals, to challenge ourselves to think about inclusion in ways that celebrate and IMPACT the complexity of lived experiences. So as we prepare for next week, let us ask ourselves how can we create spaces where everyone, no matter what intersection of identities they occupy, feels heard, respected and empowered. Make a difference this #NationalInclusionWeek—by championing the power of intersectionality. 💡💪 #InclusionMatters #Intersectionality #Diversityandinclusion #NationalInclusionWeek2024
