Who needs a bigger pod squad? At Earth Gives we are all about pods, shoals, flotillas, batterys and fevers. Of course we're talking about groups of fish. Scuba Diving magazine tells us that when fish swim together, they're called a shoal. When they swim in the same direction, it's called a school. That movement in unison is usually to help the school find food or mates. Earth Gives Day is embracing that same idea - having climate and environmental nonprofits swim together on one platform making it easier to have potential donor mates find you. This nationwide giving day is in response to eco philanthropy being stuck at just 2% of all giving. It is not enough to protect our futures and families. So if you're part of a US-based nonprofit that protects our lakes, rivers, waterways, oceans and their food-giving, life-saving, carbon-capturing power, then sign up today. (Yes, other wildlife, nature, climate and climate justice groups welcome too.) 🌊 For My Birthday: Let’s Protect Our Oceans Together 🌊 This year, I’m celebrating my birthday by raising funds for a cause deeply personal to me: ocean conservation and restoration. The ocean has always been my sanctuary, teacher, and home. It connects us all—across countries, cultures, and ecosystems. To me, the ocean is the glue that holds our world together, reminding us that nature knows no boundaries. With heritage rooted in England, Nevis, and America, the ocean is woven into my identity. I've sailed across its vast expanse, snorkeled vibrant coral reefs, attempted (somewhat elegantly) to surf its waves, and learned how to free dive into its depths. The ocean has taught me many lessons—how to be calm and giving, yet also to respect her strength, knowing she can be rough, raging, and take just as much as she gives. If you know me, you know I feel most like myself when I’m near the ocean. Every major decision in my life has brought me closer to her. But now, it’s not enough to simply love and admire her beauty—we need to act. That’s why I’m raising funds for Oceana UK, an incredible organization working to protect and restore our oceans. Instead of a birthday drink or card, I’m asking you to consider donating to this vital cause. 🌍 Here’s why it matters: The ocean regulates our climate and supports countless ecosystems. Global warming is causing coral bleaching, biodiversity loss, and extreme weather events. Oceans are critical for combating the carbon crisis through habitats like seagrasses and mangroves. Every contribution—big or small—supports efforts to protect marine life, restore habitats, and promote sustainable practices. Together, we can help the ocean thrive for generations to come. Even if the ocean isn’t your thing, think about the sacred spaces that ground you here on Earth. Let’s commit to doing something! “The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.” – Robert Swan Thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday in a way that truly matters. 💙 With gratitude, Victoria #OceanConservation #ClimateAction #ProtectTheOcean #EarthFirst

The future of the Greater Sage-Grouse, an iconic species of the American West, is in doubt — and YOU can help! American Bird Conservancy (ABC) is calling on supporters like you to participate in an open comment period designed to gather feedback on a new set of management plans proposed by the Bureau of Land Management. For decades, Greater Sage-Grouse numbers have dwindled as their unique habitat, the sagebrush steppe, shrinks. Now, ABC and partners are fighting for what might be the species' last hope for a chance at survival. Don't wait to take action: Comments are due tomorrow, Tuesday, May 14! Urge the Bureau of Land Management to adopt the strongest conservation plan needed to recover the bird's declining populations. Act now to conserve the Greater Sage-Grouse! Outdoor Alliance is one of the outdoor industry’s greatest assets. If you’re a brand, there’s no better organization to align with; if you’re an outdoor enthusiast, this is the non-profit deserving of your donations. For 10 years, Outdoor Alliance has united the outdoor recreation community to achieve lasting conservation victories. These include protecting millions acres of public lands, billions in funding for the outdoors, and converting more than 100,000 outdoor enthusiasts into outdoor advocates. I have dedicated almost 5 years now to volunteering on their Board of Directors because OA fundamentally sees recreation as a conservation tool and genuinely unites different stakeholder groups in their coalition. 92% of recreationalists rely on public lands, yet only 19% make stewardship (advocacy, volunteer work or donations) an annual habit. Let’s close the stewardship gap by supporting this organization’s incredible work for the next 10 years! #outdooralliance #protectpubliclands Access Fund The Surfrider Foundation American Whitewater American Canoe Association International Mountain Bicycling Association Winter Wildlands Alliance The Mountaineers American Alpine Club Mazamas The Colorado Mountain Club

🙌 It’s #WorldRainforestDay! 🌿These incredible ecosystems provide habitats and homes for an array of different plants and animals. There are even #TemperateRainforests right here in the UK! 🍄 Dripping with moisture from more than 200 days of rainfall a year and shrouded in mists and lush green foliage, Britain's rainforests are perfect for scarce bryophytes, lichens and fungi as well as a host of wildlife species, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. 🌍 Temperate Rainforests can be found along the UK's western seaboard, in places such as the West coast of Scotland, Cornwall, Cumbria and parts of Northern Ireland. 💚 At Lakeland, we’re proud to support the Woodland Trust who care for rare temperate rainforests nationwide. They work to protect and manage these biodiverse habitats so that generations for years to come can experience them. 👉 Take a glimpse into Britain's beautiful and fragile temperate rainforests, all from the comfort of your own home: Wales-rainforest-v2.8 (woodlandtrust.org.uk)

This holiday season, First Climate is embracing the spirit of giving over gifting. 💚 Instead of sending corporate gifts, First Climate is proud to support Associação Mico-Leão-Dourado (AMLD) as part of our annual “Giving Over Gifting” campaign. Our 2024 Christmas donation will help protect the endangered golden lion tamarin and its home — the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest. 🌳 🐒 🌴 AMLD works tirelessly to restore rainforest habitats, create wildlife corridors, monitor invasive species, and run vaccination campaigns to protect these remarkable primates. Their efforts have already helped grow the wild tamarin population from just 200 in the 1970s to around 4,800 today. By supporting AMLD, we’re not just protecting wildlife — we’re contributing to local communities and global climate action. Because sometimes, the best gift isn’t wrapped — it’s wild and free. 💚 Learn more about how Associação Mico-Leão-Dourado is making a difference here: https://lnkd.in/eXtdBRCc #GivingOverGifting #GoldenLionTamarin #Rainforest #ClimateAction #Sustainability #Brazil #Donation Luis Paulo Ferraz

https://lnkd.in/d3V4MYG Aquarium Divers For Coral Society (ADFC) is #urging all dive clubs to come together to discuss the organization of at least one club trip for coral restoration a year. The foundations doing this work in Florida and the Caribbean are not enough to sustain this work on their own. We know this because our mission to help restore reefs is what we do. The data is strong to support #coralreefrestoration but to get ahead of coral decline we need #volunteer divers who are willing to put in the effort. Science is not enough to get the underwater work done. The coral crisis is real, it is not about saving these beautiful coral but keeping the ecosystem alive for healthy coastal environments. If you seriously want to help turn tide on the coral decline, ADFC is open to all certified divers and membership is free. Help us #makeadifference. #Coral #Climate #Ecosystem #BlueFinance #Divers #Nonprofit
