Updates

  • As we welcome 2025 and set new intentions, we are excited to partner with Stasher to share simple tips for avoiding single-use plastics and being #OceanFriendly this year. 🌊✨ Stasher bags are beautifully designed, easy-to-use reusable products. One Stasher bag can replace hundreds of single-use plastic bags each year, aligning Stasher with Surfrider’s mission to reduce plastic pollution in our ocean and coasts. • 2024 Wrapped 🙌 Thanks to your support, Surfrider’s 40th Anniversary was truly unforgettable. From launching our Climate Action Program to filing a landmark lawsuit against Exxon, the Surfrider Foundation made significant strides in the fight to protect our ocean and coasts. This year, we activated over 49,000 volunteers—our highest number ever—including 21,000 who volunteered for the first time. Join us as a Surfrider member to ensure our beaches are protected for generations to come. https://lnkd.in/gUvT_Num

  • What does it take to save a wave? 🌊 The fight to save a wave is the reason there’s a Surfrider Foundation to begin with. From Trestles to Tres Palmas, from Montauk to Mā'alaea, the Surfrider Foundation has protected some of America’s best surf spots over the last forty years. Without Surfrider’s grassroots network of activists across the country, this type of surfer-led coastal conservation would be impossible, and it is worth taking the time to commemorate and celebrate these community-led efforts and important coastal victories. • Cheers to 50+ Victories in 2024! 🎉 An achievement worth celebrating, and one we aim to top next year. 🙌 From saving public access to San Onofre State Beach to the Chumash National Marine Sanctuary designation, establishing a new Marine Reserve in Puerto Rico, and banning intentional balloon releases in Florida, the Surfrider Foundation has made meaningful strides to protect our ocean, waves, and beaches in 2024. Your donation today will ensure that our tried-and-true environmental programs have the necessary resources to continue to succeed and expand their impact as we embark on a new chapter in 2025. • “Surfrider is not just an organization—it’s a movement that empowers individuals to make a tangible impact through education, advocacy, and collective action. It’s about giving everyone the tools to protect the ocean and coastal ecosystems, no matter where they come from or what their background is.” -Shania Baker co-founded Surfrider’s University of Puerto Rico, Rico Mayagüez Student Club. The club has focused on projects that combine education and action—such as beach cleanups, single-use plastic reduction campaigns, and community workshops.
