💡 Patient Advocacy & Social Media: Expanding the Reach of Clinical Trials💡 At this year's WCG Patient Forum, one key theme was the powerful role social media now plays in patient advocacy. Digital platforms are enabling advocacy groups to cast their nets wider than ever before, making it easier to engage with a broader patient population and drive awareness for clinical trials. This transformation means that more patients are informed, engaged, and able to connect with trial opportunities that are meaningful to them. With advocacy groups leveraging these tools, they’re not just connecting patients—they’re amplifying patient voices in ways that directly influence trial design and outcomes. 🙌 As we continue advocating for EQuitable clinical trials at leapcure, it's energizing to see how technology is facilitating how patients and sponsors can work together for better, patient-centric solutions. 📢 Reach out if you have any questions/thoughts around how social media can be further leveraged to empower patients and drive clinical research forward! #PatientAdvocacy #ClinicalTrials #SocialMediaImpact #HealthcareInnovation #PatientEngagement #DigitalHealth

Change is happening in healthcare, whether companies are ready for it or not. I believe that patient advocacy will be the revolution that transforms healthcare in the United States—if we allow it to be. Success in advocacy often leads to early commercial success, especially in drug development. The sooner companies engage with advocacy organizations and truly listen to what patients want from a product, the better the chances of a successful drug launch and widespread usage. This shift is beginning, but it requires a deep understanding from those in C-Suite towers of the critical impact these teams can have. If we support and prioritize patient advocacy, we can drive meaningful change in healthcare. Let’s #bridgethegap and ensure that this revolution reaches its full potential.

Greetings, It is indeed my pleasure to share this survey from Lindsey and Erin who are diligently working on their PPALS PACT Capstone project. They are addressing an important topic, so I hope that my colleagues who work in Industry along with my colleagues from Patient Advocacy Organizations will take 10 minutes to complete the survey. You know deep down that you want to know what everyone thinks about this question!!!! Yes, I am exerting a little peer pressure here and I hope that it works! All kidding aside, thanks so much for sharing your opinions. Professional Patient Advocates in Life Sciences (PPALS)Professional Patient Advocates in Life Sciences (PPALS) You are invited to complete a brief (no more than 10 minute) survey being conducted by two PPALS members, Erin Smith and Lindsey Wahlstrom-Edwards, as part of their capstone project. The survey will ask questions about how, when, and why life science companies and Patient Advocacy Organizations interact. The results from this survey will be aggregated anonymously and will be used to inform a framework and best practices guide for recruitment vendors who are engaging with Patient Advocacy Organizations for industry-adjacent purposes. Last week, MHP Health's Advocacy team attended the fifth annual Patient Centricity Conference, an event dedicated to elevating patient engagement and centricity in healthcare. Our Head of Advocacy, Alison Dunlop, joined a distinguished panel alongside thought leaders from UCB, Lundbeck, and Cuttsy+Cuttsy® to tackle the critical issue of dismantling the barriers to patient centricity. The panel's insights highlighted that while there has been progress during the last 20 years, long-standing patient engagement challenges continue to affect truly patient centric care. In her contributions, Alison highlighted the necessity of embedding patient-centric values within organisational culture, the power of data insights to tailor approaches, and the importance of engaging diverse stakeholders to ensure the right groups are included decision making. Here are our key insights from the conference: 🌟 The Power of Sharing Lived Experience: Patients’ lived experiences are just as valuable as clinicians’ and they should be similarly considered as key opinion leaders 🌟The need for cultural shifts: Organisations need to integrate patient centricity into their core strategies, which requires a shift in internal culture and internal stakeholder engagement 🌟The need to build trust: Forging genuine, long-term partnerships with Patient Advocacy Groups is rooted in trust and transparency, and industry must move beyond transactional interactions to ensure improved relationship The event was a powerful reminder of the collective need and commitment to making healthcare more patient-focused. We're buzzing with ideas and eager to support our current and prospective clients, in achieving their patient-centric goals. #PatientCentricity #HealthcareEngagement #PatientCentricityConference #MHPAdvocacy

Is there a secret weapon in rare disease trials? Teaming up with patient advocacy groups isn’t just nice-to-have. It’s essential. ✔ Patient advocacy groups bring unparalleled insights into the patient community. They can help with patient identification and recruitment—one of the biggest hurdles in rare disease trials. Knowing where to find patients and having a trusted voice by your side? Game-changer. ✔ When biotechs and advocacy groups align on goals, the impact can be huge. It’s about more than just moving research forward; it’s about getting treatments to patients faster. ✔ From my experience working with patient advocacy groups, I've learned that it’s essential to listen closely to what they have to say. They provide powerful insights that shape trial design to better address patients’ real needs. Have you partnered with patient groups in your research efforts? What insights have shifted your perspective. #PatientAdvocacy #RareDiseases #Biotech #Collaboration #ClinicalResearch #PatientCentric

How can we make sure advocacy is recognized as a true asset in #pharma and #biotech❓ Advocacy brings the patient to the table, shaping strategies that genuinely connect industry with what the #patient needs. But too often it’s seen as a cost rather than a core piece of an organization’s success. If we want to change that, we need to show the impact of #advocacy in a way that’s clear and measurable over time. 📊 Using data and research to measure engagement and initiatives over time helps demonstrate just how much advocacy drives meaningful change. When we can quantify the positive effects on patient engagement and community outcomes, advocacy isn’t just seen as valuable— 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫. Grounding advocacy’s role in measurable results builds a healthcare ecosystem that’s truly responsive and centered on patient needs. #PatientAdvocacy #PatientEngagement #HealthcareInnovation #HealthEquity #PatientOutcomes #Data #BridgeTheGap
