🛠️ Advocacy isn’t just an organizational function (or "𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦") — 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥. One which can be the key to a #healthcare revolution like we have NEVER seen before. ⬇️ Here is why Advocacy needs to be the cornerstone of Healthcare ⬇️ • 𝐀𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬: Advocacy ensures that patient experiences and needs are heard and addressed, shaping policies and treatments that are genuinely inclusive. • 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐆𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: By partnering with advocacy groups, we can better understand barriers to access like income, and environmental factors creating targeted support where it’s needed most. • 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Advocacy holds healthcare organizations accountable to the patients they serve, pushing for continuous improvements in DEI and health equity. 🤝 For a system to truly work, it needs to work for everyone. #HealthEquity #PatientAdvocacy #HealthDisparities #PatientOutcomes #BridgeTheGap #PatientEngagement

🍎 💭 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭: The gap between knowledge & execution in patient advocacy can be significant. Many #advocacy teams struggle to align their efforts with the most effective strategies due to a lack of actionable data. Often, teams rely on internal metrics that may reflect positively on their efforts but fail to provide a true measure of impact. Conversely, some measure patient & community initiatives without a clear understanding of their internal resources, budget, or how these align with industry standards. Effective advocacy requires both proactive & reactive approaches to accurately gauge effectiveness. The need for comprehensive tools in #healthcare advocacy is critical. Imagine your team empowered with actionable insights that meet real patient needs, leading with confidence and backed by data that validates and advances your role. Isn't it time we bridged these gaps?

The relationship between advocacy organizations and industry is complex & often filled with tension... #Pharma relies on these organizations for feedback & to build trust within communities. Yet, in times of financial pressure, advocacy is often viewed as an expense line rather than an integral part of long-term strategy. 😰 This dynamic is even more challenging given that many advocacy organizations operate on limited budgets, while still expected to educate patients, advocate for policy changes, & provide direct support. 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚, 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐭, 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐚𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞. To make this relationship truly effective a shared commitment to patient outcomes, & a data-driven approach are essential to ensure these organizations have the resources they need to drive real impact year-over-year. #patientadvocacy #patientcentric #healthequity #bridgethegap #healthcareinnovation #healthcareadvocacy

We’ve made significant strides with two key studies—our ELAVAY study and our BIOADVOCATE BENCHMARK data. ELAVAY gathers annual feedback from patient advocacy organizations, community groups, and professional societies, providing insights into the effectiveness of various healthcare strategies. Meanwhile, our Bioadvocate benchmark data helps us assess the resources and budgeting of industry advocacy teams, comparing them to corporate revenue. What we’ve found is clear: teams with more resources, larger budgets, and strategic integration with C-Suite executives achieve far greater success in the long term. This underscores the vital role of well-supported advocacy in healthcare. Let’s continue to #bridgethegap and drive meaningful improvements in patient care.

💡 Patient Advocacy & Social Media: Expanding the Reach of Clinical Trials💡 At this year's WCG Patient Forum, one key theme was the powerful role social media now plays in patient advocacy. Digital platforms are enabling advocacy groups to cast their nets wider than ever before, making it easier to engage with a broader patient population and drive awareness for clinical trials. This transformation means that more patients are informed, engaged, and able to connect with trial opportunities that are meaningful to them. With advocacy groups leveraging these tools, they’re not just connecting patients—they’re amplifying patient voices in ways that directly influence trial design and outcomes. 🙌 As we continue advocating for EQuitable clinical trials at leapcure, it's energizing to see how technology is facilitating how patients and sponsors can work together for better, patient-centric solutions. 📢 Reach out if you have any questions/thoughts around how social media can be further leveraged to empower patients and drive clinical research forward! #PatientAdvocacy #ClinicalTrials #SocialMediaImpact #HealthcareInnovation #PatientEngagement #DigitalHealth

“…The traditional approach, where researchers and healthcare professionals (HCPs) determine the agenda in #sarcoma #research is changing. However, #patient #involvement can have a meaningful impact on research. Therefore, the Patient-Powered Research Network (PPRN) of the Sarcoma Patient Advocacy Global Network (SPAGN) set up a Priority Setting Partnership (PSP)… This study reports on the second phase of the PSP and aims to prioritize the #research and patient #advocacy topics identified in the first phase of the survey. These findings could provide guidance for #researchers, assist #fundingagencies with assessing project relevance and empower #patientadvocates to represent the needs of patients and carers.” https://lnkd.in/df5a6mRU

🚧 Healthcare #Advocacy is at a 𝘱𝘪𝘷𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭 crossroads... There is a growing recognition that patient advocacy is essential in ensuring that individuals receive the care they need. Advocacy teams play a vital role in building trust, fostering strong patient relationships, and ensuring that healthcare delivery is truly patient-centered. However, as the industry faces increasing financial pressures and navigates organizational changes, advocacy efforts are at risk. 𝘐𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘶𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴, 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘤𝘺 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴—𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦— 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝. This short-term approach overlooks the long-term value that advocacy brings, not only in enhancing patient outcomes but also in strengthening the reputation and sustainability of healthcare organizations. At Archo, we believe that advocacy is not an expendable cost but a strategic investment. It’s the cornerstone of patient trust and a key driver of loyalty and satisfaction. By prioritizing advocacy, we ensure that patients remain at the center of everything we do. #BridgeTheGap #HealthcareAdvocacy #PatientCenteredCare #HealthcareStrategy #PatientExperience #CorporateResponsibility

Last week, MHP Health's Advocacy team attended the fifth annual Patient Centricity Conference, an event dedicated to elevating patient engagement and centricity in healthcare. Our Head of Advocacy, Alison Dunlop, joined a distinguished panel alongside thought leaders from UCB, Lundbeck, and Cuttsy+Cuttsy® to tackle the critical issue of dismantling the barriers to patient centricity. The panel's insights highlighted that while there has been progress during the last 20 years, long-standing patient engagement challenges continue to affect truly patient centric care. In her contributions, Alison highlighted the necessity of embedding patient-centric values within organisational culture, the power of data insights to tailor approaches, and the importance of engaging diverse stakeholders to ensure the right groups are included decision making. Here are our key insights from the conference: 🌟 The Power of Sharing Lived Experience: Patients’ lived experiences are just as valuable as clinicians’ and they should be similarly considered as key opinion leaders 🌟The need for cultural shifts: Organisations need to integrate patient centricity into their core strategies, which requires a shift in internal culture and internal stakeholder engagement 🌟The need to build trust: Forging genuine, long-term partnerships with Patient Advocacy Groups is rooted in trust and transparency, and industry must move beyond transactional interactions to ensure improved relationship The event was a powerful reminder of the collective need and commitment to making healthcare more patient-focused. We're buzzing with ideas and eager to support our current and prospective clients, in achieving their patient-centric goals. #PatientCentricity #HealthcareEngagement #PatientCentricityConference #MHPAdvocacy
