Crescent Communities’ Post

One of Crescent Communities' core pillars of stewardship, Environment, centers on disciplined and thoughtful development as a key component to building successful communities. This pillar is especially integral as we ramp up the development of our master-planned community, The River District.   With this in mind, we used reclaimed River District Red Oak to create 13 new homes, along with planting native vegetation, for Carolina species like American Kestrels, Prothonotary Warblers, Brown-headed Nuthatches and Barred Owls to help local populations thrive alongside development.   In addition to these new sanctuaries, we also gained our first resident of the Westrow neighborhood — Crescent! 🦉 This resilient Barred Owl recovered from a car accident thanks to our friends at Carolina Raptor Center and has now found a new home in The River District.   A huge thank you to our amazing partners She Built This CityNorth Carolina Wildlife FederationCarolina Raptor CenterCatawba Lands Conservancy and Carolina Thread TrailLandDesign, Airline Bike Park and WK Dickson, an Ardurra company., who all made this initiative possible!

This is so awesome!! SBTC
