Day 18 of 31: The Joy of Cards—Celebrating Diverse Narratives We’re 18 days into celebrating the beauty of this December season, and today, let’s pause to appreciate the power of a handwritten card. Sending a card might seem simple, but it carries the incredible ability to connect hearts, acknowledge individuality, and celebrate shared goals. Each note can be a reflection of the person receiving it—a space to honor their story, their journey, and the unique role they play in your life or work. In a world that often feels rushed and impersonal, the act of writing and receiving a card is a reminder that everyone matters. Think of it as a small canvas for inclusion—a way to recognize the diverse narratives that make up our communities, families, and workplaces. When you send a card this season, take a moment to write something personal. Share how someone’s individuality has inspired you or helped shape your shared goals. Words like these are more than ink on paper—they’re a gesture of belonging, a celebration of humanity. So, grab a pen, embrace your voice, and create a little magic with your words. You might be surprised at how much joy you spark in return! #CNJAssociates #31DaysOfDecember #TheJoyOfCards #CelebrateDiversity #InclusionMatters #MotivationalMoments #HumanConnections #DEILeadership

Giving Back is the Cooperative Way: A Message from CEO Donnie Spivey "As you enter this season of traditions and celebrations, I urge you to focus on the important things in your life—faith, family and friends. It is so easy to get caught up in the “busyness” of the season, that we don’t allow ourselves to take the time to truly enjoy the most important parts of our lives." "The Gift..." Today, as we celebrate Christmas, I’m reminded of a pivotal moment in A Charlie Brown Christmas. In his search for the true meaning of Christmas, Charlie Brown feels overwhelmed and lost, much like many of us do in our personal and professional lives. It’s not until Linus steps forward and recites from Luke 2:8-14 that the message becomes clear: "And on earth peace, goodwill toward men." This simple yet profound message speaks to the power of coming together with purpose and understanding. In our work lives, as in the Christmas season, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and miss what truly matters: people. Whether we’re solving complex business challenges or celebrating the holidays, the connections we build and the empathy we share make all the difference. So today, let’s take a moment to reflect on how we can extend goodwill toward one another in our work and beyond. Let’s prioritize collaboration, understanding, and the shared goal of making the world—and our workplaces—a little brighter. Merry Christmas, everyone. May today bring you peace, joy, and a renewed sense of purpose. #MerryChristmas #Leadership #Collaboration #Teamwork #Empathy #WorkplaceCulture #CharlieBrown #HolidayReflections

In our world today that is constantly on-the-go, check that item off the list, what’s next, never giving ourselves permission to slow down and step back and reflect, we tend to forget about the simple idea of hospitality. I would bet that most who are reading this are in a position of working with humans, and at least part of your role lies in service to a group of people. As someone who is always striving to make sure our #philanthropists see and understand the impact of their giving, feel recognized, and ultimately make that next gift, this book was a home run. While it centers around the restaurant industry, I found so many ways I could apply the principles of #UnreasonableHospitality to my work in #gratitude and #donorrelations. One of my favorites was the creation of a new position called the “Dreamweaver.” Will Guidara and his team took a next-level approach to leveling up their guests’ experiences. And they didn’t have to cost a lot of money - but they had to be unique and tailored to the person/group. For example, the group of four who were overheard discussing the “ethics of the Tooth Fairy” and as each of them went to the restroom, they would find a quarter under their folded napkin upon their return. It’s all about #listening, #anticipating, and #creativity. It is also about giving the team autonomy to do these things. I’m here for all of this. If you haven’t already, pick this one up and give it a read. I hope it fills you with as much inspiration as it did me. (Shoutout to my fave fellow reader Tina for the recommendation!)
