Twenty-one years ago, as we prepared for a trip to Hawaii over Memorial Day, my dad was putting the finishing touches on his Legacy Letter for me, unaware that those would be his final words to me. Just last night, Corbin invited me to conduct a Legacy Letter Workshop for a group of his friends. It was a profoundly moving experience to see fathers earnestly crafting their Legacy Letters to their children. I expressed to them how extraordinary and meaningful their actions were. "Imagine how many people yearn for a dad (or mom, or loved one) to carve time out of their hectic lives to write a letter that conveys their love and pride?" Though I've facilitated workshops nationwide, there was something incredibly special about being with a group in Tulsa, my own community. Watching these men write, my thoughts naturally drifted to my father diligently writing his letter to me. His absence is a void in my heart, especially when reflecting on the last 21 years he's missed—moments like meeting my wife and children. Yet, I also think about the legacy he left behind. My father touched many lives during his lifetime, but it's safe to say that he's now impacted even more in his death. I look forward to the day I can share with him just how vast that impact has become. Last night, those fathers solidified themselves as the heroes their children already see in them, and Corbin was the Hero of the Day for making this experience happen. We are eagerly expanding our offerings to include Virtual Legacy Letter Workshops.
