We are very proud to receive a Leading Employers award and be recognised among the top 1% of UK companies to work for. The Leading Employers award aims to bring clarity to the large range of employer studies and awards. It uses a methodology that reviews an extensive number of sources, feedbacks and topics. By combining all this data, a significantly higher validity than in a stand-alone study can be achieved. Reflecting on this recognition, Tom Millar, Director of People at Reed in Partnership commented: “We have a continuing strategic priority to be a great place to work. This means that we focus on creating a workplace that supports our employees to deliver excellent services to our customers. We do this through a range of activities such as positive reward and recognition, learning and career development. With more than 64,000 people finding jobs in September (compared to the forecast for gains of 25,000 jobs), the jobless rate remained unchanged at 4.1% even as the participation rate hit a record high of 67.2%. Against this backdrop, employers need to remain competitive to attract and retain top talent. A recent Mercer study shows the share of Australian employers commonly using internal secondment and rotation programs increased from 3% in 2020 to 7% in 2024, as companies think more creatively about how to keep employees engaged, motivated and loyal. Here at Six Degrees Executive, we often hear candidates say that a key motivator for them considering a new organisation is the career progression, professional development and leadership on offer on the other side of the fence. Some organisations are well set up to delivered structured, formalised rotation programs (often seen across the likes of automotive and pharmaceutical brands), but smaller, more nimble businesses can have equal success in these too and, if done right, can become a key pillar of your EVP. https://lnkd.in/gVUc3XWv

Thank you to our leading employer and industry voices for meeting today as part of our Employer Advisory Group. With representation across leading business bodies British Chambers of Commerce, CBI (Confederation of British Industry), CIPD, Institute of Directors (IoD) and Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), alongside industry representatives and employers working in partnership with us across our Careers Hubs. Members discussed: ➡️ How #careers can support new government priorities, including as an entry point to the #skills system and helping to highlight gaps and investment in sectors to drive talent pipelines. ➡️ #WorkExperience and how a flexible, quality first approach can support employers to provide experiences that will enable all young people to gain the skills employers need. ➡️ Insights from over 800 businesses using our #EmployerStandards, showing that school outreach strengthens talent pipelines, closes disadvantage gaps and saves them money. If you want to join the conversation, sign up for our first Employer Excellence Seminar, on 22 November, when Peter Cheese from CIPD and our engaging panel will be discussing “How can employers develop the skills and work readiness of young people to unlock growth?”: https://bit.ly/48t6M9a
