Ever felt like something was missing in the way you lead? I did. For the longest time, I struggled with this nagging feeling that I wasn’t meant to lead every process or implementation detail at Better Together. It made me question myself: Is something wrong with me? Should I be handling everything? Then, someone recommended I read Rocket Fuel. I’ll never forget a recent flight from DC to Atlanta when I opened the book. From the first page, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. It was like someone had put into words everything I’d felt but couldn’t articulate. The 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆-𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 was the missing piece. In that moment, it clicked: I’m the Visionary. The big-picture thinker. The one who dreams up what’s next for Better Together. And I immediately knew who my Integrator was — Tiffany Bassford, PMP, the brilliant executor who turns those dreams into reality. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. 🌟 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 - I will focus on setting bold goals, driving innovation, and building relationships that amplify social impact. ⚙️ 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 - Tiffany’s expertise will ensure every strategy is implemented seamlessly, our team stays aligned, and nothing falls through the cracks. 📈 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 - Together, we’ll expand into new markets, advocate for inclusivity in AI, and achieve financial growth that fuels mission-driven work. This is just the beginning of what’s possible when leadership strengths align. I can’t wait to see how this framework helps us grow and continue driving change in 2025. What are your game-changing business plans for 2025? #RocketFuel #Visionary #Integrator #BetterTogether

  • The new year is filled with possibilities. We're excited to use our learnings to continue building inclusive workplaces that drive innovation, connection, and growth. Inclusion isn’t just a value - it’s a business imperative. An article from Chief reminds us that inclusion fuels better decision-making, stronger team collaboration, and long-term success. But it takes intentionality to make it a cornerstone of culture rather than a checkbox. Inclusion is in everything we do. We believe: ✅ Diverse perspectives lead to innovation. ✅ Empowered voices create stronger communities. ✅ Prioritizing equity ensures lasting impact. As we plan for the year ahead, here’s our call to action: 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘀: How are your strategies empowering marginalized voices? 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: From team meetings to client strategies, inclusion must be a constant priority. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: Representation at all levels drives accountability and progress. Let’s commit to building cultures where every team member feels seen, heard, and valued. What’s your top inclusion priority for 2025? #BetterTogether #EquityAtWork #SocialImpact https://lnkd.in/eBkk3Ez7

I attended the The Conference Board's ESG Summit in New York (yep, #ESG is still a thing, lol!). I went to the summit for one reason: to learn how to balance environmental sustainability, economic growth, and social equity. A McKinsey & Company report said that in 2050 fossil fuels will account for 40–60% of global energy demand. The global energy transition must be as inclusive as it is ambitious, addressing the needs of emerging economies while investing in low-carbon technologies. Here are some discussions at the conference: • Accelerating the adoption of renewable energy without leaving key industries behind. • Reimagining the role of corporations in driving climate innovation and accountability. • Ensuring a just transition so all communities benefit from the move to sustainable practices. What I took away is that true progress will only come when collaboration takes precedence over competition and when innovation is for everyone. What’s your perspective on balancing economic development and environmental goals? Let me know in the comments! 👇🏾 #BetterTogether #ESG 𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘥 C.D. Glin

  • The gender pay gap is a well-known issue, but the 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 reveals an even deeper disparity. While women in the U.S. earn 84 cents for every dollar a man makes, full-time working mothers earn just 𝟳𝟭 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲—a loss of more than $20,000 annually. The reasons? • Assumptions about their commitment to work. • Need for flexible schedules. • Time off for maternity leave or caregiving responsibilities. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀—𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀. When mothers are paid equally, their children thrive, their families grow stronger, and their communities prosper. Research shows children of working mothers 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 in the future. So how do we close the gap? 🔑 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱: • 𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Clear pay structures make gaps visible and solvable. • 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲: A federal provision could significantly support working families. • 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲: Investing in childcare opens doors for mothers to rejoin the workforce. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Empowering mothers strengthens families, reduces poverty, and fuels the economy. Closing the wage gap could add over $𝟳 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆—a game-changer for everyone. We’re committed to advocating for equity and supporting the policies that will make a difference. Let’s create a workplace culture that uplifts working mothers and ensures every contribution is valued. • “You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.” – 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘢 𝘋𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘴 For Better Together, in 2024 we embraced the words of Angela Davis. This year challenged us in ways that stretched our thinking and pushed us to show up with purpose every single day. It wasn’t always easy, but staying true to our mission – using communications to achieve equity – helped us survive the volatility that is a PR agency. Let's dive into Better Together's 2024. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱. I thrive on taking risks (cough, cough, launching Better Together!), and that is exactly what we did by launching the first-ever 𝗕𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 from a communications agency – a step toward equity in emerging tech. This was just the start of driving change. Our advocacy partners ensured we always embraced our mission-driven work. 🌍 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: We launched in #London with our partner Talking Talent, to champion workplace equity on a global scale 🌱 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: Our work with Giant Food supported the DMV community, from sustainability initiatives like reducing food waste to supporting the U. S. Dream Academy’s Power of a Dream Celebration. These efforts reminded us of the impact we can make when purpose aligns with action. 🍎 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: We partnered with ProGeorgia to encourage voter rights, Red Rabbit, LLC to promote culturally relevant school meals, and The National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health (NPWH) to educate communities on peri/menopause and reproductive and maternal health. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. None of this would be possible without the incredible people who make Better Together what it is: To our 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺, thank you for showing up every day with passion and purpose. You are the soul of this agency. To our 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, thank you for trusting us with your missions and allowing us to amplify your impact. Together, we are driving change. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. In this world of uncertainty, one thing is clear: Better Together will meet this moment with purpose and passion. We are living in the unknown, but what I do know is we will continue building a future that reflects our mission. Our 2025 vision is clear: to scale our impact while staying true to what makes us Better Together. We’ll keep telling stories that shift power, launching campaigns that drive change, and building partnerships that lead to change. To our incredible team, clients, and partners – you are the reason we do this work. Thank you for your trust and collaboration. Let’s keep transforming the world by doing it all the time.

  • Team Better Together was in Atlanta for this year’s State Innovation Exchange (SiX) National Conference, where state lawmakers met for the first time since the federal elections. The event celebrated SiX’s 10 years of making a difference while looking ahead to future goals. 📣 The three-day conference focused on building stronger communities, sharing inclusive messages, and working to overcome challenges. Lawmakers discussed how to collaborate and plan for the future. ✨ Key Lesson: Federal elections get lots of attention, but real change happens at the state level. Working together at this level helps create systems that are fair and equitable. We’re excited to see how progressive policies continue to grow and shape a better future! 💪 #BetterTogether #ProgressInAction #StateLeadership Kera Felton, M.A.M.C Chelsea Ritchie, MPS Ejita Holmes Tiffany Bassford, PMP Paul Schmidt Renyata Finney Brittany Cummings Lucia Moreno Alexandra Jaffe ProGeorgia

Community building at the National Association of Black Journalists Los Angeles event, featuring the amazing Nina Parker and Shar Jossell. Nina shared her raw, unfiltered story about moving to a new city, experiencing setbacks, and pivoting her career multiple times as a media personality and journalist. Her openness about failure, resilience, and reinvention left us all motivated to embrace today's challenges in newsrooms and keep pushing forward. ✨What I loved most about this event was #NABJLA's focus on community building—a space where Black journalists and media professionals could connect, share, and grow together. Starting with a grounding breathwork exercise and wrapping up with meaningful networking, I walked away feeling deeply inspired and recharged. Thank you, NABJLA, for creating such a supportive and inspiring space! 📸 Swipe for highlights: carpet moments and candid Q&A shots. #NABJ #BlackJournalists #CommunityMatters
