Ice creams built from the ground up with superlative ingredients.

About us

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams was founded in 2002 by James Beard Award-winning cookbook author Jeni Britton. Britton’s ahead-of-the-trend vision—using whole ingredients and dairy from grass-pastured cows, rather than synthetic flavorings and commodity ice cream mix—coupled with inspired flavors, sparked the artisan ice cream movement more than a decade before it would become a top food trend. Today, Jeni’s is an award winning, certified B Corporation with scoop shops across the country, a thriving direct to consumer business, and distribution in top groceries.

  • This season, we’re boldly going where no other fall ice creams will take you — expertly navigating the border between sweet and savory. Refreshing and comforting. The familiar and the wholly unexpected. Because duality is the name of the game this time of year. Cozy sweater weather one minute, hot enough to swim the next. A toss-up between sipping on a hot or iced spiced latte. A savory casserole and a decadent dessert that both feature the same delicious squash. Our fall collection hits this perfect spot. Like your favorite fall jacket. Four unapologetically autumnal flavors — so you can literally consume fall. Available now for a limited time. jenis.com

  • BASTANI SONNATI. Our collab with @thehundreds. Available now. Every so often, one of our friends trusts us to recreate a memory through ice cream. That’s what happened when Ben Hundreds asked us to make Bastani Sonnati, or Persian ice cream — one of his favorite childhood desserts. Our version upholds the traditional flavor profile. With saffron, rose water, and pistachios playing in razor-sharp balance. Fragrant and stunning, this is an ice cream with endless stories to tell. And … a flavor this special deserved the coolest companion merch. Swipe to see the limited-edition T-shirt, designed by The Hundreds in their signature retro streetwear style. Enjoy Bastani Sonnati for a limited time in scoop shops nationwide and at The Hundreds Los Angeles flagship store. And order pints and the companion T-shirt (heads up: quantities are VERY limited!) for nationwide shipping at https://lnkd.in/eeT2zuTV and thehundreds.com.

  • Every member of Team Jeni’s, from part-time ice cream Ambassador through CEO, is eligible for a 4-week paid sabbatical every three years. The purpose of sabbatical is to rest, restore, and get inspired. In 2023, 58 team members spent their sabbatical doing things like traveling the world, spending time with people they love, or learning new hobbies. There is no wrong way to sabbatical…except to check work email or check in with one’s boss; those activities are not allowed while on sabbatical at Jeni’s. “How-did-you-spend-your-sabbatical” stories are as unique as each of our team members, and we love hearing them upon each person’s return. Here is our Director of Training and Resources, Jacob’s recent sabbatical story: “This March I celebrated my 4th(!) Jeni’s sabbatical. (We call this one the quadratical.) During my previous sabbaticals, I did a lot of major traveling, and self improvement. This time, I stayed close to home and focused on 3 things: Cooking good food, nurturing friendships, and spending as much time as possible with my 6 month old baby, Griff. I took Griff on a few short trips to meet family and future friends, cooked him several soups, and hosted several dinner parties. We spent Monday mornings at the local library for baby read-a-longs, and Friday mornings at the swim center for baby swimming lessons. In between we had lots of play time, walks, and contact naps. It was 4 weeks of an alternate life as a house-dad, just like my father was to me growing up. I loved every minute and when the time came to return to work I was refreshed and felt reborn. I feel very lucky to have had this time with my son.”

Years ago, one of our team members spent the entire month playing his guitar, leaving his house only for groceries. He reported afterward that the month was every bit as delightful and restorative as he’d dreamed it could be. Bottom line: there is no wrong way to sabbatical…except to check work email or check in with one’s boss; those activities are not allowed while on sabbatical at Jeni’s. “How-did-you-spend-your-sabbatical” stories are as unique as each of our team members, and we love hearing them upon each person’s return. Here is our Area Manager, Hilary Glass’s recent sabbatical story: “I started sabbatical with a bang, wasting no time! I hopped on a plane and flew over 20 hours to Delhi, India. This was my first time in India, which was made extra special because I was meeting my husband's family for the first time. (We had eloped in 2021 during the pandemic.) After a 5-hour car ride along a highway of sugar cane, cows, and dhabas, we arrived in Dehradun, a city nestled in the valleys near the Himalayan foothills. It was magical! I became part of the family and got to experience day-to-day life in India. From making chapatis and parathas in the kitchen with lots of laughter, to running errands throughout the week, we prepared for Akash’s and my reception. We went to markets, picked out my lehenga, rode around the town on an auto, checking out all the cute cafes, and the beauty Dehradun had to offer. We even journeyed up the mountains to a hill station called Mussoorie along the winding roads dotted with picturesque stops for chai, maggie, and momos. On our way back to the U.S., we had 20 hours in Dubai, and made sure to visit the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa. The views of Dubai were incredible as we caught the city right at sunset! Back home, I spent my last week and a half with friends, going to shows, and resting. Overall, the sabbatical was an amazing time. Some of it was planned, and other times I had no agenda, which was just as special. Being able to take this time to rest, recharge and fill up my cup again was invaluable.”
