Excavation Making Headway for Lightstone’s 130 William Street, Financial District

YIMBY has reported extensively on Lightstone’s impending condominium tower coming to 130 William Street, in the heart of the Financial District. Plans have evolved substantially since initial building applications were filed back in March of 2015, and initial plans for a mixed-use building with a substantial hotel component were dropped for the all-condominium version as of early 2017. Demolition of the site’s extant structures has since been completed, and now excavation is making quick headway, as per the latest photos from rbrome.

Excavation Making Headway for “Solar Carve” Building at 40 Tenth Avenue, Meatpacking District

YIMBY last reported on 40 Tenth Avenue when new building applications were filed for the site, in November of 2015. Now, with demolition of an old three-story warehouse complete, construction on the office project is finally getting underway. The progress on excavation has been substantial, and piling and caissons are also beginning to appear. Jeanne Gang Architects is behind the design, and the latest photos come from YIMBY Forum user JC_Heights.

Work Finally Resumes on 125 Greenwich Street, Financial District

YIMBY recently revealed the latest images for 125 Greenwich Street, which has continued to see minor modifications to its design. Though the tower’s foundation work has been completed for about two years, the site has sat fallow while searching for financing. The refreshed renderings came with recent news that the project secured a $450 million construction loan, and now, with financing secured and the plans for the building finalized, rebar is finally rising.

111 Murray Street’s Facade Nearly Complete, Tribeca

In the southern bounds of Tribeca, to the southwest of the already-completed 56 Leonard, another major tower is nearing the finish line. 111 Murray Street has been topped-out for several months, and now its cladding is following, reaching about fifteen floors below the skyscraper’s pinnacle. 80 East 10th Street Rising, East Village

Cantilevers are typically deployed on taller and bulkier buildings in New York City, but as construction techniques continue to improve, smaller structures are also increasingly beginning to feature overhangs. Such is the case at 80 East 10th Street, in the East Village, where Nava Companies’ new 10-story building is now three floors above street level, as seen in the latest photo by YIMBY Forumer rbrome.

Revised Design for Anthology Film Archives Expansion, 32 Second Avenue, East Village

The existing building at 32 Second Avenue has stood on the corner of East 2nd Street since 1919, before being purchased and refurbished for Anthology Film Archives in 1979. Those revisions were designed by architects Raimund Abraham and Kevin Bone, and now Bone’s firm Bone/Levine Architects has submitted plans for a larger revision and expansion to the Landmarks Preservation Commission, which YIMBY can now reveal.

Reveal for 267 Broadway, 42-Story Mixed-Use Tower Coming to Tribeca

Back in January of 2017, YIMBY reported on new job applications for a site spanning 265-267 Broadway, in Tribeca. Gene Kaufman is designing the tower, and now we have the first look at plans for the project, which will yield a glassy skyscraper peaking 510 feet above the streets below.

175 Greenwich Street Almost Finished, Glass Reaches Pinnacle

There has been no bigger development saga in Manhattan than the rebuilding of the World Trade Center, and while it may not seem glaringly obvious, things took a major step forward this week as the glass atop 175 Greenwich Street reached the building’s parapet. It will still take another few months for the southern and eastern sides of the supertall, aka Three World Trade Center, to be completely enclosed, but both northern and western fronts are now fully complete.

125 Greenwich Street Gets New Renderings, Will Rise 912 Feet

Downtown’s condominium boom has so far resulted in several near-supertall towers, with 56 Leonard and 30 Park Place both topping-out in the past few years. Further south, 45 Broad Street promises to become the Financial District’s first legitimate residential supertall, while plans at 125 Greenwich Street have also been advancing. The latter site had previously been anticipated to rise almost 1,400 feet, but after the departure of Michael Shvo from the development team, plans have taken several major turns. Now, Bizzi & Partners has released renderings and filed plans revealing the final design, which will top out 912 feet above the streets below.
