Hello, Important linked thread which ended-up concluding Touchback is not supported for Surface Hub 3 85" here. Cross-posting from here. I've been trying to setup touchback/inkback support several times on a Surface Hub 3 85". I'm doing everything as told in the Connect Devices guide or this other useful guide (for the Hub 2S, but I ordered a Hub 3 which has just a more beefy compute cartridge) from a Windows 11 Pro laptop 23H2 build I've updated the drivers on the host PC, installed Surface Hub Replacement PC Drivers, that is connected to the Hub via the USB-C port below, on the compute cartridge, with either a USB-C standard cable or thunderbolt TB 4 cable. Display passes through correctly, device appears in device manager (HID compliant touchscreen etc), drivers were installed automatically and also updated with Snappy Driver Installer Origin SDIO. There is no button switch like on the older 1 hub to alternate between Guest/replacement mode and standard hub. I also tried the configuration where the display/AV was passing through HDMI/Display-port and additional usb-c cable connected for devices, but this is not supported either - was again detected as a display, which I de-activated to try to give priority to device passthrough. I've read several comments on internet like this one or this one which have faced the same problem, but no official statement from microsoft stating that Touchback is not supported on the Surface Hub 3 85". Would love some insights. Best regards, Jonathanjo-chemlaOct 17, 2024Copper Contributor194Views0likes0CommentsHP print drivers
Hello I just bought a brand new surface 11th edition. And I am trying to download the printer drivers but my surface is throwing missing plug play or inf errors. I had hp printer support try to help me but it seems not to work on the surface end as all my other computers connect fine. 2/3 surfaces that work out of that office cannot print to the laser jet 4301 fdw printer why? Heres what I know... Surface 11 runs on a AWD processor. So i tried the universal AWD installer but nothing general installers say the surface doesnt have the plug play installed and another universal installer said that it doesnt have the correct infsCaylanWilcoxSep 16, 2024Copper Contributor220Views0likes0CommentsSurface hub 3 MTR wallpaper with Intune
I'm attempting to manage the wallpaper for Surface Hub 3 MTR devices through Intune, but the official Microsoft documentation hasn't been very helpful. While the XML configuration is mentioned, I keep encountering issues with it. I'm using the following XML configuration, with the image hosted in a public Azure storage via URL. What could I be doing wrong? If anyone has insights or suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. Hi everyone! We have our Surface Hub S2 in our meeting room, but after a power outage, the Hub won't boot anymore. It only comes up with the white Windows Logo and black background in an infinite loop. So, I just accepted, that I have to factory reset the device. But I am not able to boot from any USB stick. I can enter the UEFI Setup and i can update the configuration via USB stick. But when I try to start via "volume down" and power button, no recovery mode is entered. I tried all 3 USB-C slots and the USB A slot, made bootup sticks with the windows recovery tool and also with the surface IT toolkit. None worked. Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to enter the recovery mode or alter the booting? Thanks, TimTimHoelskenSep 09, 2024Copper Contributor467Views0likes4CommentsFree the original Surface Hub
My Surface Hub is at home, work near perfectly after 8 years. But, because of that device will be out of support quickly, Is someone at Microsoft who think to free up the bootcode in order to install another Windows OS like Windows 10 or maybe just convert Windows Team edition to a full Windows 10 Pro ? I thik there is a lot of device that could have a second life 🙂sbenoistSep 05, 2024Copper Contributor361Views0likes3CommentsSurface V1 - Something Went Wrong...
Hi, Yes, I know, running soon out of the support. But still like to ask. Anybody have experience that device start normally, but when icons below time should appears, there is only a text: "Something went wrong Please contact your support person." Admin center says, it is healthy. I can even see device on as "away" on Teams client, and when make the P2P call to device that looks like it is ringing as, when I end the call I can here "blink" from it. Just got the logs from the device to my wks, anything special to look at from there?Petri-XAug 30, 2024Bronze Contributor195Views0likes0CommentsSurface 3 Hub - install Power BI Apps or Edge

Hi everyone, We've been asked to change the name that is displayed on the "quarter" teams windows that appears on Surface Hub 2S with Windows 10. As you can see in this image we have the name MTR displayed on our Surface Hub 2S. We've tried changing every setting we could find on the Hub, on the M365 Admin Center and through PowerShell commands but we didn't manage to change it. The only solution seems to reset the device with an USB drive altough it's not optimal as it can take many hours to reset and update. Can you help us? We setup a new Surface Hub 2S with a Microsoft Entra ID user: We have the following settings in place in Entra > All Devices > Device Settings (which prevents Global Admins from being admin on devices): Does that interfere with having admin rights on the surface hub? When I assign the Global Admin role to a user this user cannot access the Settings app as an admin on the Surface Hub.KirilMay 31, 2024Steel Contributor267Views0likes0Comments
