𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗠á𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮 On Wednesday afternoon 15 January, Her Majesty Queen Máxima will pay an official working visit to Royal Cosun. The visit follows after winning the Koning Willem I Stichting award in the large company category last spring.    The visit will take place at the Cosun innovation centre, where Queen Máxima will receive a general introduction about our company and learn about the various innovations and sustainable applications we are developing.   During her visit, Queen Máxima will talk to our staff and growers about important themes we as Cosun are working on, such as unlocking the full potential of plants and people for both current and future generations.   We are honoured to welcome Queen Máxima and look forward to this special visit.

𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗻 | 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 As Business Development Manager at Aviko Rixona, Carl Wessel enjoys working in – and contributing to – a changing food ingredients industry, with a growing focus on plant-based alternatives. Carl is excited to introduce Potato TexaPure, an optimiser for hybrid meat and meat alternatives, to the market. “It’s made from fresh potatoes, which is completely different from what other plant-based alternatives are doing!” “The hybrid meat market is a hot topic right now,” Carl says. “I hope that with the right product development and partnerships, Potato TexaPure will play a major role in this segment.” Thanks in part to the development of TexaPure, Carl sees a bright future ahead. “We’re seeing increasing support for hybrids in retail, whilst demands are also increasing in the food service and healthcare sectors. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 | ‘𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲’ With Cosun’s youth council, young arable farmers Lieselotte Janknegt (27) and Bart te Pas (32) aim to contribute to a “futureproof cooperative that can participate on world markets.” “Decisions that are made now, will decide what we have to deal with tomorrow” Lieselotte says. “That’s why we aim to get young and future beet farmers involved. Cosun is giving everyone the opportunity to make their voice heard.” Bart hopes more and more young growers will weigh in on short- and long-term plans that can contribute to a stable cooperation. “whether it’s about creating new markets for the future, or getting more out of our current portfolio. And since May, she’s been a part of Cosun Young Board. What stands out about Sita, is her future-mindedness. “I really enjoy working with growers on future-proof cultivation. And with Young Board we play an important role in future-proofing our cooperative.”  “When our generation will be at the helm in a few years, there still needs to be perspective going forward. That’s exactly what happens on our inspiration farms in Dinteloord and Lelystad.   “These farms help you look in the mirror: what are you doing well on your own farm, and what can be improved”, Marielle Keijzer says from her inspiration farm in Lelystad. “Here, you can be inspired by the possibilities.”   Take Levien Kavelaars’ inspiration farm in Dinteloord, for example. By testing the Farmdroid, weeder and spotsprayer, they’re displaying the current options for mechanical weed control in one place. “We’re showing growers ‘this is the reality, these are your options’. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗻 𝟭𝟮𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 | 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁: 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗶 Having grown up on his parent’s farm in Parma and with years of experience as a sales agent in the agricultural market, agriculture is in Luca Spotti’s DNA. As commercial manager at Duynie Feed Italia, he’s on a mission to change the way co-products are seen and used in Italy. “Before Duynie, the Italian mindset on co-products was fairly conservative. Our challenge was – and to some degree still is – to change that view: from waste to valuable opportunities. We are starting to see a shift in this mindset already. As commercial manager, I oversee all sales activities in Italy. In the north, we sell directly to the farmer. In the south, we work with distributors. This means you have to master different approaches and have knowledge of both the strategic and technical aspects. What I like about the job is the diversity, as well as Duynie’s familiar approach. both towards customers and employees.
